  1. A lot less real estate is taken up inside the display
  2. I would agree with Seth with regards to the pump. I tried running my CaRX off a manifold, then a MJ pump and finally bit the bullet for a Masterflex to pull the effluent rather than push. The aquarium plants regulator is awesome and helps make setup a breeze. Vertex makes a good reactor. I was looking at that before I came across a deal on a used GEO618.
  3. I used it a few years ago on my 90. It worked. Just follow the instructions, take your skimmer offline and do a nice size water change after a few days otherwise your skimmer will still go nuts. I used it as a last resort and was happy with the results.
  4. Cyano is like a film and will blow off with a turkey baster. Coraline encrusts and is hard. Here is a good resourse for you: https://www.reefcleaners.org/nuisance-algae-id-guide
  5. looking forward to following this build. Sometimes I do miss running zeovit. My warning would be to be careful with using Reef Crystals. It has a much higher alk content than regular IO or other popular salts in the zeo community and could cause an alk spike after a water change. If my alk ever went over 7.5 I would end up with burnt tips running ULNS.
  6. I was between the tunze and the flipper. I ended up with the flipper and have been very happy. I store it outside of the tank when not in use and it has not scratched my tank with starfire glass. https://www.amazon.com/Flipper-Max-Magnet-Cleaner-1-Inch/dp/B00MZCU0P6
  7. Carpet nem is still alive and well. It has grown and knock on wood, has yet to eat a fish. My clowns still ignore it and continue to call the overflow home that is less than a foot away. My bubble tip split the other week and I now have two. I am thinking of removing them because they are getting pretty close to some sps that are growing pretty quick. I got the BTA from Curtis and he mentioned this strain seems to stay on the smaller side. They havent moved much and I am lucky that the carpet nem has not moved once since being introduced.
  8. Thanks Marcos! Thanks Frank. I cant wait until everything really fills in. Its just a maintenance and waiting game at this point.
  9. Tank has been going for two years as of next month. I hit a few bumps along the way but I am still happy with how things are going. The corals are growing very well and the fish are healthy and eating well. My latest speed bump was that I noticed back in november my acros were not having much polyp extension. Upon further examination I had redbugs. I know, I should QT everything that goes in the tank but I dont. I dont have the time with work to set up a separate system, monitor etc. This time it caught up to me even though every thing that goes in gets dipped. My vet was happy to provide me with the proper script to eliminate the little buggers and three weeks later I was redbug free. Since then polyp extension has been incredible and the corals have taken off again. I was still getting growth with the bugs but after the treatment, growth has really taken off.
  10. If you truly want to waterproof the bottom go with a marine epoxy. Its expensive. For my build I used an oil based paint that will hold water until my apex can alerty me to an issue. Personally I would not use latex based paint.
  11. I love it! Congrats on the new house!!!
  12. haha I have been slacking for sure. I should have some time over the next week or so to bust out the camera and take some pics.
  13. Glad to see everything is doing so well! Such an amazing tank!
  14. I ran a 93g cube with a Radion XR30w, RMS mount and wide angle lenses. Coverage was fantastic.
  15. Looks great. Are you just plugging the holes from the old overflow or using them for a closed loop?
  16. If I could do it all over I would get a Nyos 220. My RO 250SSS is great but the pump is junk.
  17. Also, if you don't have the avast vibe yet, I would consider one. Was a great piece of equipment on my system.
  18. I ran it for a while on a 90 gal and then for a bit on my 250. It works very well and I had great results. I would recommend you spend some time over at zeovit.com as it is a dedicated forum for its users.
  19. I would check the venturi. Mine had some build up and was causing some noise and restricting the air volume.
  20. This article pertains to Ecotech Radions but could really apply to any LED. You could mimic your channels to look like any of these profiles. I have run a hybrid of the AB+ schedule and run my red and greens at 25%. My tank is 27" deep and have my lights cranked up to 100%. http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Ecotech_CoralLab_WP1.pdf
  21. What happened to doing it the right way and not buying off impluse? Going fallow for 11 weeks? I'm sorry but I read your long post earlier about wanting to do this the right way and avoid losses? I was really proud of what you said earlier about wanting to create and sustain a wonderful tank and taking care of the issues at hand. We want you to succeed and I think that's why everyone is so vocal on your threads. We are trying to guide you in the right direction but guidance can only go so far. It's the same thing all over. At one point I feel yours questions will fall on deaf ears. Sorry if I sound harsh but I after reading what you posted earlier I just don't understand.
  22. I was sad that the new era marine grazers were no longer available until I found this stuff!
