  1. Yeah! That's 23 pieces in the box, plus the box! Plus sticker. Plus instruction guide. Plus a paper cover for half the box. Plus the plastic that the whole thing is wrapped in... Seriously. It's more like a 30 piece set.
  2. Oh I wanna see what happens here. This is exactly the tank I've been considering going to.
  3. Also, I'll have to take that picture tomorrow when I'm fragging something
  4. Chive On! And that black lager is the main reason I'm highly unqualified to operate bone cutters tonight!
  5. That's exactly what I'm doing! I've contemplated fragging every coral in my tank tonight...!
  6. Yep. Which is why I now own one.
  7. Actually it's 24 pieces. It comes with an awesome sticker. I'd trade 5 of these plugs for one if these:
  8. I just always find this hilarious: Note the prominent "23 pcs" on the top. 23 piece tool set. Open the set: There's tweezers - 1 piece Scissors - 1 piece Forceps - 1 piece Clamps - 1 piece Coral glue - 1 piece Frag plugs - 18 pieces Total of 23 pieces. Out of these, 4 are permanent Note that this costs $100 Also note that it's on sale now and actually worth getting. All that making fun of it... German steel medical tools are not cheap.
  9. That looks insane. Where is this?
  10. Yeah. I ended up emptying it out, mostly. All the rock/fish/water up to the stand level. Then we moved it on the stand. Some wamasers who I owe beers to came by and gave me a hand. It was surprisingly easy to just lift up one side and move it forward, then the other. Only needed two people and honestly I probably could have done it myself.
  11. Lol. I think if I asked you if I should move a tank that's not completely empty, you'd also tell me not to do it.
  12. Ken, the idea to move it... It was something special. There is a whole thread somewhere with a bunch of very qualified people telling me not to move the thing. I didn't listen. Probably took a huge risk, but it was certainly worth it
  13. Here's some more! I've figured out how to post with image! Woohoo!
  14. Not sure about quality here.. Let's see: this is with whites on. Or whatever the "sunny" setting means. http://imageshack.com/a/img910/7126/41cb23.jpg
  15. Good idea! And I obviously follow this thread regularly... Let's see.. This is the tank about 2 hours after the lights come on. Have many others, let's see if my new image hosting process works first though.
  16. You know Dave, if you keep these"I need to make a bigger tank" comments, I'll start replying with houses for sale advertisements that have a private lagoon attached. That might satisfy you. Maybe. I'm not sure what the status on buying the Indian Ocean is, but if it ever goes up for sale, I'll let you know.
  17. I wish I was kidding. I just replumbed the bulkhead in the frag tank and when I drained it, there was a ton of them squirming on the bottom. Including the mother of all pods. It was at least 1/3", maybe half inch. It's the kind that looks like little baby shrimp or something. So I promptly fished it out and one of the anthias had a nice snack. Anyhow, I think I'm stealing your thread at this point. When's this baby gonna see water!
  18. With the gigantic pods that I am growing, I think they do get shredded. However I see it as good food for LPS :-)
  19. I've never quite understood the point of putting the fuge above the tank to drain in. Well, what I mean is, sure, pods will just flow into the tank and not get hurt, yes, that makes perfect sense. However, whether they're alive or freshly minced, my fish will eat them in seconds after hitting water. So what's the difference?
  20. There is alot of stress and much higher chance of your fish dying when bought online. That's why I suggest LFS, just to see if a fish that's only in a bag for 30 min - 1 hour of transport and then 30 min of acclimation will survive. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2004/5/aafeature Not a bad read
  21. That quickly... I'd try to get a PH meter and test your PH with something other than an ATI kit. I'd either assume it's ammonia buildup in the water from the shipping bag or a huge PH swing that fish can't adjust to. Have you tried getting a fish from a local store and drip acclimating it and putting in your tank? (I wouldn't acclimate for longer than 30 min, ever by the way). I know this method foregoes QT, but you seem to have a much more immediate problem now
  22. welcome to wamas! Like everyone above has said, it's definitely an awesome investment for your tank. And as far as collecting, I'd definitely be interested in seeing how that turns out! Could be a fun weekend down the road! In other news... can I ask what is vaping? Are you guys really into smoking electronic cigarettes? Because that's all that google is telling me it could be.. o_O
  23. Look at you, posting 3 pics in the same post! I'm proud! :-D
