  1. Im not sure that anyone is actively selling captive bred inverts. There are some that do reproduce in aquariums but I think they are still easier to catch than breed. I've seen baby trochus and turbo snails in our tanks. Some of the shrimp can be bred but again its more work to do that.
  2. Sale is still going on until 1/1! We are here today 11am-4pm.
  3. By blue requirement you mean a fish that is blue we can usually get sapphire damsels which aren't as mean as damsels usually are, yellowtail damsels, blue devil damsel, and blue mandarins(come in super tiny). Haven't seen the cherub angels for awhile, though we have gotten coral beauties.
  4. We usually have a good variety of captive bred fish but they are mixed in with the wild caught fish in our systems. However everyone goes through medicated quarantine. Certain things could get through but if we notice it we will treat with whatever additional treatment necessary. If you still want fish who are captive bred with no wild fish contact we could line it up for you to pick the fish up when they come in, still in bag. They could be stressed from shipping though, and captive breeding facilities aren't incapable of contracting disease.
  5. I would recommend the reefer 170 because it has a sump giving you more room for filtration and easier access. We have one set up and running as a display in our store if you want to take a look at it.
  6. As khalid said, these rocks do cause your skimmer to over skim for awhile. just have to adjust the skimmer or lift it for a while until it calms down.
  7. For the holidays until the new year we will be running a coral sale, buy two get 15% OFF plus another 5% per additional coral. Discount up to 45% off of 8 or more coral. We will be open Monday 12/23 - 11am-4pm closed for christmas eve and christmas day 12/30 - 11am-4pm 12/31 - 11am-2pm 1/1 - 11am-4:30pm
  8. We do have some service tanks where there is ich, we confirmed it, that was there before we took over. In some cases the client doesn't want a fishless tank for 3-6 months so we live with it. Sometimes its a huge tank and removing all of the fish would be impossible without a full tear down. It is possible to live with it and that's probably what most people do. There are certain species of fish that react poorly to it, and others who are fragile in the first place that probably won't work in a tank with ich. It's up to you what you want to do and what seems worth it to you.
  9. We are matching most deals now including Rod's Original and Herbivore blend 20% off. Our prices for other frozen foods are already better than many online prices but if you find any deals bring it up and we can probably do it. As long as its not somehow at or below cost on our end, not a MAP price without discount permission, or the deal you find is some sketchy ebay dealer we will consider it.
  10. Buy two get 15% OFF plus another 5% per additional coral. Discount up to 45% off of 8 or more coral! Dry good sales include TORQ reactors, Vectra pumps, AI Nero 10% OFF. Matching most online sales on various in stock brands like echopps or skimz. Friday 29th through December 1st!
  11. Ecotech Vectras, AI Nero 5, Ecotech TORQ dock and bodies are all 10% off. The 28th to the 1st of December.
  12. The LED T5 fixtures are ballasts for T5 and then some sort of support for some of the more major LEDs like Radion or AI. They wouldn't exactly be cheaper. You would probably do fine with the Red Sea ReefLED 50 for AI Prime lights. Both use an app but I feel like the AI app is easier to use. Red Sea light is just white and blue adjustment. AI are all the typical red, green, blue, uv, white light scales. The AI Prime is a little cheaper than the Red Sea and the previous generation is on sale now because the gen is out now.
  13. I would say that if you are picky about what your light looks like the red sea lights only let you change the white and blue channels. These lights are also brand new, so keep in mind they may turn out great but if you want a sure thing these lights haven't been around as long. They are a dense chip array light similar to the Kessil LEDs. If you want more control there are the AI brand lights which are coming out with a new generation now, and the Radion lights that are both more controllable and have been around longer. Also some people have been going with T5/LED combination which may appeal to you.
  14. Hello, Daya here from Reef Escape. I noticed the conversation and thought I'd clarify on our QT process. We don't really have a service where you can pay to have us QT your fish. What we can do is give store credit for a seemingly healthy fish equal to wholesale value of that fish then you can buy it back if it makes it through QT for retail price. That means you could also put the fish on hold while it is in QT for a 50% deposit. That deposit is refundable if the fish dies or you can apply to another store purchase. If the fish that you bring in is in bad shape we may not give any credit for it because chances are good it won't make it through QT if its already dying. If its very sick we may also not allow a deposit until its looking better, because we wont sell sick fish. Of course that means no one else is buying it while its sick either. So yes it sort of is like paying a fee for QT service but that isn't exactly what it is.
