  1. No recommendations, as I haven’t been, but please share photos whatever you end up doing!
  2. Looking good! do you have plans to put coral on the rock, or are you going to grow out a bit on frag racks first? I see a ton of torches and a few encrusters, you’ve got the rock work for some nice branching SPS if you got into it!
  3. This post is 2 years old, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
  4. longest I’ve kept a clam alive! I’ve not taken par in the new tank, but everything is roughly the same distance from water to lights. It was more so using rock I had scaped already, and a smaller footprint than I had anticipated. I still sold so much, and surprisingly kept just as much 😬 my torches have never cared about the higher PAR though!
  5. If they are eating big pieces, I think your game plan is good. i think a reset will be good for all!
  6. it looks worse than it is. Already seeing a dramatic improvement, there’s really not anything left in there besides the clownfish pair and some fireworks cloves, rics, and GSP. here’s a photo from this afternoon. A week of the UV seems to have finally nipped the dinos. Not bad for a $30 amazon special. I guess something is better than nothing. The SPS continues to explode, so I’ll take that blessing. the blue clove polyps are becoming prolific. I think I’m going to try fenbendazole. Once I get them hopefully eliminated, this tank will be back to normal, until the next thing.
  7. Thanks! Outside of fighting Dino’s, everything is manageable for now. Day 3 of UV and in think we’re close! Good news is, SPS continues to thrive, so I’ve got that going for me! I’ve already got plans for the frag tank moving into her room 😍
  8. Epoxy resin would probably work, but it might get expensive for something that size
  9. my schedule doesn’t matter anymore 😁 better than BoGo! Good for you! So far everything feels manageable!
  10. That’s pretty decent par for the bottom third, IMO. I’m not an expert, but I’d venture that as long as the lights are physically functioning (turning off/on, fans running, etc) I’d rock em’ until the wheels fall off.
  11. Yeah, it’d be cool if I could just take the silencer off, and maybe apart. I actually might have a brush tiny enough.
  12. Glad you sold it! I think this was fairly flexible tbh. You joined as a free member July 1, and we allowed your posting FS! We would have loved to see you before a getting out post, and could have shown you first hand how we have been benefiting and supporting the hobby for decades in the DMV. Best of luck with the move!
  13. Noticed my skimmer was not working (pumping water instead of bubbles.) I took it apart, cleaned it, put it back in, and it still wasn't working. I pulled the air hose off the silencer, and it's working again, which can only lead me to believe the silencer is clogged. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to take it apart. The T/Elbow from the pump seems to be glued, so I can't slide it off. Perhaps it's just jammed very very tight? Thoughts and help, please!
  14. Hey Dan, I edited the price in for you. We allow a one time getting out of the hobby sale, so this is approved. FWIW, the link to your google drive doesn't show photos. GLWTS
  15. Baby arrived early, happy & healthy, and I'm finding that I have incremental time around the house to check on the tanks. I'm glad I moved this into the living room, as we pay it more attention, and it demands upkeep being in the room we spend the most amount of time in. The dinos persist, even though it doesn't look like it from this photo. I haven't tested my water since, but I have been feeding super heavy and have not done any water changes. While it seems to be getting better, it still continues to pop up. I have a drop in UV for a 75 gallon tank arriving tomorrow, so I'm hoping it will nip the dinos once and for all. During all this algae nonsense, these blue clove polyps have just gotten out of control. That will be my next battle. I didn't even know they were in the tank, YIKES. Also, check out the SPS, it's POPPING off. That will be another problem soon, lol! This poor little nano. A little over a month ago, I thought it looked bad, but it was actually in MUCH better shape than it is now. I've realized that the power supply I had on my MP10 was actually completely wrong, and the wavemaker was not working as it should. Just today, I finally rooted around my equipment in the basement, and found the right one. Water is finally moving here in the tank, besides just the return, which was not enough. Also, the skimmer went out, and I've just pulled it back online tonight. A water change in the next day or two, and I'm confident I'll have this back to snuff in no time.
  16. Another clean build. Super unique idea. I look forward to see if you run into (and obviously will overcome) any challenges, and watching it grow out!
  17. I got good vertical growth when I had an over crowded nano bc I believe i was constantly trimming/bonsai’ing the SPS. It’ll only stay that way for so long without a ton of maintenance.
  18. Everything is coming in really nicely! Looks great!
  19. Phew, a lot happening over here. i did a full one round treatment of flucanozle on the nano, and it did its job great. Now im having cyano, its 💯 a low flow issue, the softies don’t mind, mushrooms and zoas thriving. The gigantica was walking around the tank in the DT, and I couldn’t manage the collateral damage that MIGHT have occurred, so I sold it and replaced with a Black Widow BTA. I also had dinoflaggets. Well, have I guess. After aggressive water changes, I realized I was only making it worse, so dirtying up the tank isn’t a problem. Looking for a UV Sterilizer to add to the tank, even though I think I’m making (very slow) progress. Cutting back the photo period has helped dramatically. through all of this, my SPS is popping off. So I guess I can’t complain. I also have had an explosion of blue clove polyps, that I didn’t think I had moved into this tank. Not cool. Looks like I’ll get to have a go with Fenbendazole!
  20. I’ve never used kalk, but I’d probably dilute it, is it’ll getting added with top off?
