  2. Here are some zoas before treatment Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk
  3. I checked my 2 zoas this am and am pretty happy with the results. Will post photos tonight.
  4. Supposedly chemiclean reverses this point and brings the zoas/palys back.. Quick google search fir any1 that is interested. I did some dips tonigjt and habe photos. Will post tomorrow with results.
  5. Has anyone ever used chemiclean to treat zoas that are dying from bacteria and fungal infections? They say with 1 or 2 spoons mixed with quarter of tank water, left for 15 min, and turkey basted till fungal/bacteria (brown) comes off is all you need. You can also Treat your tank as if you have cyano and your zoas will open day after last day of treatment.
  6. Are they the 100 per .5" frags I hear people talk about?
  7. The ecoxotic stunners and panorama are great lights for adding but not alone. In a nano im sure they will do well but atrongly believe that you will need tons of them to get good growth.
  8. I just switched my t5 fixture to mh t5 combo. I did this because the direction my tank is heading, I dont think 12 t5s Would do what MH can do. Sure t5's will color up and grow but mh will definitely bring out the true potential. I'll still be adding tmy led strips and be tweaking the fixture as it goes.
  9. I'll have to update the thread to show new scape plus led arrangements
  10. Just actinics Actinics + LED All except led on All including led Since then I have reaquascaped my tank attached the leds to actual fixture and have decluttered the sand bed.
  11. I use ecoxotic panorama on my 150 and they add a lot of pop to my tank. The shimmer is slightly there but I use it more to make my colors pop. I currently have 3 460 nm blues and 2 red and blues. The reds bring out orange, yellow, purple, and reds in my tank. I'll take some pictures and post them up.
  12. Free phone service!!!!! I need onw of these!
  13. Found this today and thought others would benefit from it. Nice light fixture but way to much $$$$$ This unit is 8x54w t5 and 3x75w led clusters. Par reading of t5 and leds. Leds are at 100% http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2274338&page=2
  14. It's called FTA (frag tank anonymous) Helped me A LOT A LOT
  15. What would be cool is if 3 people do a coral trade, lets say of that toadstool, and 1 uses just MH, other t5, and 3rd leds. Then we all vote in who has the prettiest toadstool after a few months. This will show true potentials for new comers and those who are skeptical.
  16. I had 2 AI sol blues over my 75 at one time replacing my MH and t5's. After 6 months I switched back to my MH/t5 and never looked back. This past year I purchased some d120 full spectrums and had 3 over my 150. At first everything looked great! especially with all blues. I acclimated my sps kept my softies in their locations and enjoyed what I saw but still wasn't 100% happy. After a few months I went back to my 12 bulb t5 fixture and added some panoramas for accenting my corals. I am now 100% happy with my light setup. Reason why I switched back: 1. The water didn't look crisp. Under t5's the water had a cool blue ice look. Under the leds the water looked thick, dense, as if fishes and coral were swimming in a tub of blue jello... 2. My corals didn't do to well with the new light. I know I probably needed more time but I experimented with led grown sps and now switching back to t5s, I had no idea some of my sps had different colors or changed colors entirely. I'm not doubting led's as I use my AI's over my softie frag tank. Unfortunately, I have yet to use or see a led unit that can give me the same colors as t5's.
  17. I really like those domes that captain ron makes. Zoas look great on them and for the price they're pretty comparable.
  18. I checked with ai support and still haven't heard back yet.. From research I've found that this is the problem especially if its run above 60%.
  19. My AI keeps turning off then the light begins to pulse on and off. I believe it's because my fans arent turning on to cool the unit down. Has anyone changed the fan in their sol's? If you've changed one before where did you purchase your fan and how did you change them. Thanks!
  20. Well dang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I have 2 craps that I only see at night when I'm hunting with a flash light. One that I have discovered is a teddy bear crab and the other is an unknown crab. The unknown one is small like a anemone crab but with a square face.... I've been scouring the net looking for an answer but have not found one. I don't have photos either because he is quick and hides when the flash light comes on.
  22. Just got a wp40 to replace my wp25 and when I plugged it in, it instantly created waves in my tank. Def recommend it if your looking.
  23. Reason why I ask is because I've only notice them eat zoas when there is something wrong. I think the zoas release some form of stench that attracts the stars. I placed some zoas that were closed for a week next to a full blooming colony (making sure they dont touch) and just sat and watched. Immediately within an hour there were 5 stars crawling all over the closed colony but not touching the open one. When one did move over to the open colony it quickly hoped back over to the closed one..... By the end of the night that colony was eaten away and the stars just slowly walked away.
