yup, should have drilled a long time ago. added a small piece of live rock to seed the rest of the rocks. loves the shimmering look the kessils put out. purchased a eheim 1262 return pump, but still not sure if i should continue to use the mag 5 or the eheim.

successfully drilled two 1.5" holes today. i am very happy with the glasshole overflows. it is surprisingly quiet. rescaped the tank and it is officially up and running. i know i just set this thing up, but on monday in memory of those that have fallen during times of crisis, i am going to purchase some fish. i only used 25% of the box of dried rocks i got from my buddy. wonder if i should just throw the left over ones into the ocean.

when i had freshwater planted tanks i noticed the fish grew a lot faster when i did weekly water changes. 2009 i setup a tankfull of angelfish and dither fishes and change 15% water weekly and the angels grew to adult size within 6 months. i tore it down and setup the same tank in 2011 with the same type of fish except i only changed water 2 times within a year and during that year the angels had yet to reach the size of my previous setup. water tests were identical for both setups, but i purchased the fishes from different stores.

yup, hopefully the movers crate this tank. only reason i did not go with the glassholes is because of future moves.

doh, bought a used cpr cs102 overflow and it dont work. just ordered a glasshole 1500 overflow. wondering what else can go wrong. 2 out of 3 aqua lifter went bad after the shipment.

no aquascaping yet. i spent the majority of time doing the wiring. i also took out the foam in the stand and replaced it with wood. also lined the bottom of the stand with liner just in case i get an accident. i flipped the sump around so that i will have an area for a future refugium if i need one. still waiting for the screen for my reactor so that i can use biopellets. hoping to see this thing wet by the end of the month.

not going to paint it, just leave it as is so that the tank can get some natural sunlight. the plastic things are two upflow algae scrubbers. seen it on lafishguy and decided to give it a try.

hmmm, not sure i want the dinner tray looking thing in my display. i got dry rocks.

this is the first move where the packers put stuff in the tanks when they packed it. it probably would not have broke if they were packed with nothing in them. even the 75 gallon had stuff in it, but luckily only the bottom of the tank was scratched and not cracked.

i seriously thought the packers knew what they were doing. i told them how i wanted them packed, but instead they sat in a box without any bubble wrap with stuff inside the tank. really? it is insured, but i never received replacement value before so we will see how this goes. lucky i kept all the original boxes for all our tvs. have to open the rest of the boxes today to see what else is broken. some of the boxes looked like its been kicked around like a football.

this sucks. both my 24 gallon cubes cracked during the shipment. the 20 gallon sump shattered. only tank that survived is the 75 gallon. looks like i have to start from scratch again. did i mention i hate moving?

but msg is what makes it taste so good.
