  1. Did a mockup of the stand design. Went and got the lumber this evening.... Should hopefully be able to put it together tomorrow/Wednesday weather permitting.
  2. So I never did a build thread when I started my 125 back in 2012... Figured I might as well make this thread ahead of time for my 150 while everything is being hashed out. 3. Unfortunately no... the shirt was only if you ordered the 160g bucket for 43.99, when I ordered the 200g box for 42 before discount lol.
  4. Thank you for making this post! Snagged 4 boxes for approx 38$ a box. While dinking around I was able to get pet solutions to pricematch Dr Fosters and Smith on the sump I wanted. Saved 122$ and got free shipping and no tax...
  5. I set mine up using Feed D. You will need to edit your outlets code for whatever you want to shut off in that feed mode. For example if you want your return pump to turn off when you are in Feed D mode: If you want to delay the pump from coming back on immediately after the feed mode is over, do this; This will delay it by 10 minutes. Hope this helps!
  6. So plans have changed and instead of doing a 93 cube, I'll be doing a 36" x 36" x 27" 150 cube... Is there a prefabricated brand sump you guys would recommend or should I stick with doing a homemade 40B sump? Just trying to plan on how to lay out under the tank with dosing containers, an ATO container, and a sump lol.
  7. So I need the hivemind of WAMAS to help me decide on a buildout... I currently have the XS160, and need help deciding on getting a retrofit swabbie for it, or getting the CS1 with the swabbie... My XS160 has been a champ so I cannot complain in that regard, but I also saw the CS1 can pipe my biopellet reactor right into the input. Decisions decisions. What would you suggest? This will be for a new build thread I will be posting in the next few weeks for a 93 starphire cube I am getting from ERC and a custom stand as well. I still need to hash out the sump design to fit under this thing as well as an ATO container.
  8. Why don't you put it out in the garage tank on the rightwith a eggcrate gate?
  9. Can't speak for the Nikon portion being a Canon guy, but I use Tamron's 90mm f2.8 lens for macro shots and it hasn't done me wrong yet.
  10. That's really cool. I'll have to use that from now on.
  11. So it appears Amazon is now doing their Amazon Smile program, that donates 0.5% of your purchases amount to a charity of your choosing. I typed in MASNA and was able to select the Marine Aquarium Societies Of North America (Masna) as an option. Thought this was pretty nifty, but I personally don't know what all qualifies as eligible purchases. Worth looking into I suppose.
  12. Looks good! I really like how you were able to bend it and shape it to match the edges like that.
  13. Bowfronts are tricky because of the inherent curvature of the glass... Only thing I can suggest would be to keep as perpendicular to the glass as possible (to a rounded glass side no less ) to prevent distortion as well as close as you can to the glass to prevent glares... Good luck!!
  14. Yeesh! no thank you...
  15. Thanks guys for all your input
  16. Is there a formula or method to determine what my levels should be of each type to be balanced? For example: If calcium is 450, my alkalinity should be ____ dkH, and magnesium should be ____ ppm. If alkalinity is 10 my calcium should be ____ ppm, and magnesium should be ____ ppm. If magnesium is 1350 ppm my calcium should be ____ ppm, and alkalinity should be ____ dkH I know that calcium should be between 400-440ish, and alkalinity between 7-12 dkH, and magnesium between 1300-1500 ppm, but it would be beneficial to see HOW they are supposed to be balanced with each other. I've seen other calculators such as http://www.ultimatereef.net/info/calculators/alkcalcalc.php that do calcium and alkalinity, but nothing that also includes magnesium. Thoughts?
  17. Occasionally reefs2go will do their pods buy one get one free. That's usually the only time i will order them as shipping in cold weather has a tendency to lower their survivability even with heat packs.
  18. Judgement free zone my friend. Trying to better your husbandry should never be looked down upon
  19. Appears to be a doctorfish tang (acanthurus chirurgus)
  20. Their FAQ states nothing is going to change, but I am hesitant to believe that.
  21. Just saw this come across the wire and figured it was interesting: http://ecotechmarine.com/merger/
  22. Fair enough... I'll bump the LEDs up by 5% a week to see if it helps... Thanks guys
  23. I'm starting to notice some of my zoas are stretching fairly far. They are healthy as can be and are looking the best they ever have, but their tube structure is getting really long... some even up to an inch long. A few of them also have even gotten wider in size too. Ever seen or heard of this? I'm running 3 AI Hydra lights on a 125g at about 70% about 1ft off the top.
  24. I had a ton of them until my cleaner shrimp discovered they were a tasty snack on a half shell.
