  1. Mine came from Mr. Coral when Adam first bought the retail store. I can't even remember how long that was ago. Two years maybe??
  2. I use a pole-mounted deck scrub brush, which can be assembled inside of the tank to make it fit. I scrub the edges and bottom with vinegar, rinse well, then suck out the water with a wet/dry vac and 3 extension wands. After that, I repeat the process with tap water. The tiny bit (1/4 cup or so) of tap water left after vacuuming is something I never worried about.
  3. Lack of light is also my best guess. I experienced that same phenomenon when I switched from halides to LEDs.
  4. Same here... says the image is larger than 800 X 100 pixels.
  5. I would definitely agree. Richard has gone out of his way to meet me at any time that's convenient to me. I'm really happy with ERC.
  6. I have a Blueline 55HD sitting here as a backup you are welcome to try if you are thinking of downsizing the pump and aren't sure where to start. It should handle your tank fine. It's about 1/3 as powerful as the goby.
  7. Just wanted to post some pictures of some awesome coral I bought from Exotic Reef Creations. Thanks Richard!! Fungia Dendro Rainbow Blasto Leptoseris I believe
  8. Here is one on Ebay. Never tried one, though. Not exactly what you wanted.
  9. I've dumped thousands and thousands of gallons into my ejector pump and into the septic tank and have never had a problem. Just had the septic pumped last summer and they said the system looked fine. I did recently re-route my old saltwater to get pumped out under my deck.
  10. Nice. Did you use the stainless or the plastic blade?
  11. I have 6 Evergrow D120 - style LED's on my 220 and am getting satisfactory growth. One month's growth on my Leishman's Table
  12. I saw a local maintenance company at my local Petco (Hagerstown, MD) the other day hooking up a new UV sterilizer and chiller and explaining the usage/purpose of both to the staff!!!! Mind Boggling.
  13. Mine ate frozen mysis right away and loves LRS Reef Frenzy. Won't touch flake or pellets.
  14. Copperband here too. Never had a problem. The one I had before started picking at my clam, but it was my fault for feeding it littleneck clams.
  15. It has never been out of the water through 3 tank moves and I drip acclimated it for 3 hours when I got it. I just checked the receipt and I bought it on 1/30/2012, so it's closer to 3 years. I do have asterina stars. It likes to hang out wherever there is film algae, such behind the top rim of the tank.
  16. First, I bought the pump with digital drive, a new Easy-Load II head, a few 1/4" barb to 1/8" threaded fittings, a few 1/8" to john-guest fittings, and some clamps. The head: The tubing and misc parts: The tubing cut and fittings installed: Head installed (2 screws and lining up the tang on the back: Open the head to load the tubing: Close to lock-on: Say bye-bye to this PITA needle valve: Replaced with this: All done:
  17. I got so sick of fiddling with my needle valve all the time, I decided to do something about it. For around $300, I purchased a used Cole-Parmer Masterflex pump, a new head, and all the tubing / fittings required. These units are made for continuous duty and have a great reputation for running for years and years with quarterly tubing replacements. I was using a maxi-jet pump in the sump (I have also tried the unit gravity-fed) but I would have to adjust the needle valve daily. I hooked the unit up pulling through the reactor on the effluent side. I am hoping to avoid blowing the lid off if the effluent line clogs. These pumps can build up high pressure, and I don't want that kind of pressure in the reactor. Here is a video of it in action. I checked the output and it's dead on. The numbers bounce around a little bit, but I continuously measured 35-40mL per minute through the unit. Now all that's left is to clean the installation up someday, it's kind of ghetto right now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foMimmngyjM
  18. Did it work at noon? I don't think you can have spaces in the name. Maybe that is causing an internal issue that it's not reporting to you?? Maybe ditch the ampersand? Think 1990's DOS when programming lol.
  19. I used to have two which were too small and weak for a high-flow tank. Ended up in sump all the time and eventually disappeared.
  20. Tony- Peristaltic pumps are not for running tanks, they're for dosing and other low-volume needs. 1/4" tubing is not large enough to run your nanos from (or any other tank for that matter.) You will likely need a pressure-rated pump, such as a PanWorld 50PX, to run both tanks upstairs. I have never done a long run like this, so others may chime in that have done it, but a likely scenario would be one 3/4" PVC feed line and one 1" PVC drain line running from sump to tanks. You should be able to split it upstairs, especially if the tanks are close together, and share a common drain line (the 1" PVC) upstairs.
  21. Naah - I've been bleaching them in the washer and drying them in the dryer for years.
