Welcome Richard, that water factory water is what i use as well as water from Aquarium One, only thing that discouraged me from having an RODI unit is all the rejected water, in my eyes i saw $$$ going down the drain LOL. this hobby is very addicting so definitely make your coral selection wisely and save your self a lot of money.

sure man, sorry just saw this but will take one when i get home. The set up is the same as hers only that skimmer may actually perform better out the box than the stock one, thats why i had to mod mine.

Hey Jason, i just have the stock skimmer that i modded with some mesh but need to redo the mod soon with enkemat, the skimmer slides right in the first compartment of the Solana tank and then the water drops through Cheipure Elite and then runs through some cheato that is light up with a JBJ Glo before going into the return chamber.

Steve, that looks like the exact same pump my skimmer comes with, only slightly modded. i dont know if its worth that much but if things dont work out with otyher leads i may just have to get it.

can such material be bought at a home depot? I have done this mod to my stock skimmer and while it works great the material i use keeps desintegrating every few months, or is there an needle wheel impeller i can buy for a small pump anywhere? thansk for any help

Bump... chalice is stil available and very healthy. also got a sweet new chalice from Aquarium One, mad pros for their store and corals.

chalice frag actually has two maybe 3 eyes.

I dont know about that, you cant put them to work once the alcohol sets in lol. I have seen those around, and always makes me laugh at their SILENT AIR aka FART name lol. Just wondering about what other reefers have as a safety net for when or if disaster strikes, and what is more important for if power goes out, to keep flow going or a heater? I just bought a Vortech battery backup and well it says its good for up to 3 days when powering an MP10 but i have nothing for keeping heat.

I used the small biocube skimmer a long time ago with no success, I would be willing to try another as long is it works. Would this skinner be efficient for heavily stocked tanks?

from what i have noticed, is that most nano skimmer designs are very similar, one of the only things setting them appart is teh quality of material and pump used. To be truthful, i really like the one that comes with the solana, the design is simple and after a quick mesh mod, it seems to perform as well as other high end skimmers. What i am looking for is definitely a reliable pump and a skimmer body that is efiicient enough to be used in several different nano tanks. if you think about it, the compartments of most nano tanks are about the same size and by putting the pump at the bottom like the stck solana skimmer has it, it creates room for the skimmer. I also dont want a finikey skimmer like the tunze, forget about having to regulate it too much, once in sump/compartment it should just work. I would also preferably like a mesh or any other wheel that is efficient at creating bubbles for it to work properly. Anyways, my tank is at your services if you would like a guiney pig for a prototype, let me know. thanks

just a heads up Aquarium One has some premium live rock and lots of nice shelf rock too all cured with no pests, i know if i was seeting up or need extra thats the type of rock i would use. On another note, i get a new mille combo soon blue and pink
