  2. link of article and video http://www.mbari.org/news/news_releases/20.../barreleye.html Researchers solve mystery of deep-sea fish with tubular eyes and transparent head The barreleye (Macropinna microstoma) has extremely light-sensitive eyes that can rotate within a transparent, fluid-filled shield on its head. The fish's tubular eyes are capped by bright green lenses. The eyes point upward (as shown here) when the fish is looking for food overhead. They point forward when the fish is feeding. The two spots above the fish's mouth are olfactory organs called nares, which are analogous to human nostrils. Image:
  3. nice, i just got a hold of a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 macro but my pictures don't come out that good.

  7. Thanks guys. The anemone is a green bubble tip and the zoas i am not really sure what they are but they are sweet, as Bob (rocko) he got a few now.
  8. nice tank, you have any recent full tank shots?
  9. definitely not as much as when i had MH on the previous tank, i dont notice it much since i now have the ATO working but i would say about 5 gallos every 2 to 3 weeks.
  10. few of mine.
  11. well i no longer have clowns, mine decided to go carpet surfing DOHH, but one nice looking fish i recomend if a yasha goby with a pistol shrimp, you will enjoy looking at them. A small yellow clown goby and also catalina goby.
  12. that is awesome, i love my tank under T5s, the colors pop.
  13. your tank looks a lot better now, i like the rockwork.
  14. thanks NIKI, I did not use the stock bottles as ATO because they just did not work for me, originally those go in the 3rd chamber but the way i have my set up is i have a 4 gallon bucket ( one pictured underneath the DIY frag rack) and from there i have a small pump that goes to the fist chamber that way the skimmer stays at the same level for better performance.
  15. Thanks for the complements, i downsized because i wanted to put tile on my whole fist floor and i did about two months after the 65 was set up but for me to be able to finish the job i had to dismantle the tank and move it and so well i took the opportunity to create more room in my home and found a better spot for a decent size tank. Also the maintenance time and money was less. not the best shots i was bored and decided to create a rack that would use up the back wall space
  16. Hey fello reefers, i am new to this site and still a bit new to the hobby, i started with a 29 gallon biocube around March 08 which did great, in August 08 i decided to set up a 65 gallon tank and within a few months of that set up i decided to go back to a smaller tank which is the solana i have now. I run a TEK T5 24" fixture, stock skimmer and a bag of chemipure, kalk is added though the JBJ ATO and do 5 gallon water changes every week using seachem salt.
