  1. Just bought a new home and its an older style rancher which has a septic tank as sewage, is there any precautions i need to take, i know i will not be dumping my water change water in there or any other chemicals, but i do wash filters and buckets and pumps which are sometimes caked on with marine crap. Any advise is helpful, thanks in advance.
  2. Same here, i used small zip ties and it jas wroked great for a few months now, skims like a champ too.
  3. thanks for the responses, this is the first one i see around but will keep an eye for them. I did remove it.
  4. is it good or bad, should i put it back in the tank?
  5. Smaller tanks are nice but are actually a bit harder to maintain in my honest opinion, look for an all in one tank that you can actully add or comes with a skimmer, maybe go a bit larger as i knnow once you get a small tank you will feel like a bit bigger tank is just a bit nicer and better for viewing. Inverts tend to hide well so wether you house them on a small or larger tank, you wont see then %100 of the time. Look into the larger versions of the tanks you mentioned as well as the Current Solana 34 gallon.
  6. They are all fairly similar, with easy to work engines, you should have no problems with it and it has a warranty.
  7. on sale at 1saleaday.com, if i didnt already have one i would certainly purchase this one, seems like a nice one and reminds me of the smaller honda ones. http://1saleaday.com/family/
  8. War is a terrible thing indeed, RIP to David and my condolences to his family.
  9. thanks guys but truthfully i could really use the money for renovations, i appreciate the offer though.
  10. not sure yet on wether the equipment will be sold, i would like to say i will keep it so it can be set up at a later time but i am on the fence about that.
  11. If its not one thing its another, i may be getting into a lot of house work in a few weeks and may be selling the whole tank set up or may be parting out, first with corals, fish and rocks, once all that is gone i may part out the equipment. Will probably start breakdown thread in a few days.
  12. Yep, vouchers have been redeemed. Thanks again man, awesome deal. Now i just have to figure out wether i want Italian, Japanese, Thai, Greek or Spanish food.
  13. I guess a lot of people took advantage of this deal, digitaldoorstep is down due to high traffic. Anyways, thanks for the heads up, i bought two.
  14. next year give him a frag lol, way better than candy. I too had a few kids scope out my tank from the door, noone asked about it though
  15. Very nice man, love those cardiff tanks.
  16. take it back and go to a more reputable store, looks like they sold you some bad stuff. That algae looks like something i had that was really tough to get rid of, definitely not cheato.
  17. Very nice zoanthids and sexy shrimp pair.
  18. i used to use it on my older version of the mp10, the new mp10es is a bit more difficult to set up and so after several minutes trying to figure it out i gave up, my corals and fish do not seem to mind, i have my pump set on reef crest at around 60-70%.
  19. Bob, I am glad your surgery went excellent and that you are feeling great, cancer is such a terrible disease. You are also a valued asset to this forum, loosing you is not an option anyone here can cope with, so please keep us updated and stay in great spirits, because your fish, corals, friends, family and WAMAS needs you.
  20. Thanks Darren, my pictires do not do it any justice, it is so bright and nice looking, definitely a good find.
  21. It could be a calcium based macro algae, check out the link. Neomeris Annulata http://www.melevsreef.com/id/annulata.html
  22. You could also make some your self out of some acrylic from Home Depot or Lowes and paint them black to prevent algae from gowing in there.
  23. tanks surf&turf, i may have to sell some due to having to move the tank in a month or two, but before i do i need to get my friends 100mm macro to take some nice pictures.
