$2200 on Lighting is alot but thanks to Guy, I didnt spend anywhere even close to that There really is no spotlighting. At 14" above my tank it lights up everything and I mean EVERYTHING!!! I was thinking it was going to be like a Light Saber of light myself but its really not. Just dont look at it 10" away from your face!! LOL

LOL.... I went with LEDs Ecoxotic 50W Photon Cannons (2x 12k) & (2x453nm). Really indistrial looking and ALOT bigger than what I thought. First time I plugged them in I was looking straight at it and almost blew my eyeballs out!!

Really looking forward to seeing your tank filled and cycled. I am about 2 weeks out from filling myself.

My tank is not set up yet. I am still in the purchasing phase. Question for Vinegar Baths. Do I need to add baking soading after the 24 hr. 1:1 vinegar soak? Or just let it sit in RO water by itself for a week?

The smell of Ammonia in the rock is hard core! It didnt smell like this when I got it? Basically took 100 lbs. of Pukani and cooked it for 24 hours with the Phos Free. Then 24 hours in RO/DI. Repeated this 3 times then left the rock in RO/DI for 4 more days. Had a couple power heads in the bins for water circulation. Is this normal for you guys who cooked there Dry Rock to help get rid of excess Phosphates? GUYS IT STINKS LIKE CAT PEE! I am not even kidding. The Ammonia smell is very pungent! Should I try a 1/2 Water 1/2 Vinnegar soak on the rocks to try and combat this? Maybe I started the cycle of these rocks in my Rubbermaids? I dont know?? ANy help on this is appreciated!

Actually the maxpect say around 4 to 6 inches off the water. Is that at 100% Intensity? That cant be right?? What optics do you have in? Maxpect comes with interchangeable degree optics if I am not mistaken.

Ryan, Whats the purpose of the fuge in your sump? Looking at your dimensions for it, if your looking to use it for De-Nitrafication it is way too small for your tank and wont make a dent. If its for growing pods or something along those lines then cool. Do you plan on running a media reactor and Bio Pellets?

Ryan~ No unfortunately I didnt get the canopy with mine. But thats ok because I kinda like open top. The biggest turn offs about the Radions besides the price is a couple things. I've read they are extremely dim. And thats on 90-120 Gallon tanks I have been reading. Imagine how dim they will be on mine. I am not really a fan of spotlighting. It just looks weird to me. Second are the PAR numbers. From the tests I have seen they are hitting around the mid 200's on the top of the water hung 12" above. Thats not gonna work for me and my 30" depth... same for you too! But its hard to beat like you said the maintenance of having to buy bulbs, plus the heat in the summer time.... I got some time till I am ready for lights so I am still on the fence..... Just keep reading I guess

Ok started cooking my Pukani Dry Rock this weekend with some stuff called Phos Free because its been said this stuff leaches phosphates like crazy. Also finally picked up a return pump. After talking with Melissa over at Marine Scene I went with a Blueline 70 External. I ran a Blueline 40x on my 90 and was real pleased with it so this was kind of a no brainer. The only thing I am starting to question now is my lighting. I thought I was 100% sold on the Aqua Illuminations but being that I have one of those DD tanks I am not sure? I've just been reading and reading and being that I want a fairly SPS dominated tank I dunno it just looks like Halides are just tried and true?? I dunno I am on the fence still. Main thing is I dont want to drop the coin and then be dissapointed ya know?
