If you ever decide to setup tank like that let me know..lol I'll sell you my entire rock/sand that already comes with green algea and aiptasia..

GaryL, thanks for the advise I've actually cut down on feeding also (every other day as well), I also nuked them aiptesias with AiptesiaX which are still closed up from Sat. Keeping my fingers crossed for copperband to attack them as this is my last hope.

wow Bob, this tank looks almost like my tank now :( but I think I might have you beat in the size of them aiptesia which swallowed one of my peppermint shrimp this weekend that I bought brom BRK. It was an expensive feeding for these suckers. What is your plan of action on this tank? I put 10 peppermintss, a copperband in my tank this past weekend, Copperband it not even going close to even small baby aiptesia and shrimps are no where to be found..:( so frustrated..

I just called FF they only have one shrimp left :(.. I didn't get to talk to Sean since he wasn't there. I'll call tomorrow to see when they get the next batch in. I'll need at least 10.

I am thinking about going with peppermint shrimp route to attack my aptesia which has taken over my tank. I would probably need medium to large size. Does anyone know who locally has them that eats aptesia? Thanks Sid

I have one MP40 and one MJ1200 w/mod kit on my 144gl half circle.. I got pretty good flow. I have a video on here with just one MP40 running where you can see how much water flow is in my tank. Do a search and you should find it. Sid

I would be interested, my little nephew was visiting us last summer and while I was at work he was playing with mag float and managed to scratch the glass on couple of places by grabbing sand particles between the magnet. Hunter IF you do get into this business do let me know

Travis, I thought about space heater but I've heard many horror stories about them and I think I want to stay away from that route especially since this will be in crawl space and out of sight. Evan sorry for the quick meet as we didn't get to talk yesterday and I had to run up, wish the parking was little better.. I don't like those vamoose buses that block our entrace and take away little parking spots.. I want to Thank Der ABT(Evan) and Coral Hind (David) for letting me barrow their heaters yesterday. The tems are coming back up slowly which is what I want to do so that I don't shock the live stock. I am going to order another heater today to just have it as a backup for situations like this. I thought by having 3 heaters would be enough but I thought wrong I guess.. Maybe they are getting old and not functioning properly.. Thanks again for everyone's suggestions and help. you guys Rock!! Sid

Thanks for your suggestions ... I will try the bags w/hot water. I know that heaters are on and working. I don't have space heater either. 75gl sump + 144gl DT is alot of water to bring temps back to normal.

I am not sure what happened, I know it got really cold over the weekend and snow didn't help either. My sump is in the basement/crawl space where I have 3 heathers in different chambers of the sump to just ensure that water temps stays between 78-80F. Saturday morning I noticed that it was dropped to 68F, my corals didn't like it and fish were hiding. I added another heater in my main display to bring the temps back up. It's gradually coming up but still not where it suppose to be. What's other way I can try to bring the temps up? Can I add hot water slowly? I don't have anymore heater to add :(..

Update: I contacted Steve this morning he asked for pictures and SN, which I'll be providing once I get home from work. Hoping it's just a washer and nothing major that's broken. Thanks for all your suggestions/help. Sid

ok I opened it and it seem like that the small little washer is broken which sits behind the magnetic disk. I didn't take the screw apart but I can tell by just looking at it..

Bob, I can see the magnet disk and screw in the middle which I am not planning to touch just because i don't want to void warranty or anything. One thing I did notice that the disk is not flush and it's slightly tilted for some reason and think that might be causing the sticking when it's trying to rotate. Thanks for you help

I came home after work and found that my MP40 wasn't working. The light on the unit was constant purple. I took it out, cleaned it up and while I was cleaning I noticed that propeller was moving freely and during the full rotation it was getting stuck at one point. I even dipped it in vinegar and still no luck. I purchased this unit brand new about 5-6 months ago. I wanted to see if anyone else had similar issue? I'll be contacting customer service tomorrow morning. :(
