    roozens?

I don't buy from Roozens anymore, This year 4 fish purchases 4 deaths in QT within 3 days of purchase, 3 inverts same, dead by next morning in QT, only luck i've had with Roozens livestock have been some bright green Ricordia. ??? i'd rather buy online for fish, at least you get a 5 or 7 day stay alive guarantee. tng Anton
  3. BBC News/Science Just a bit of info for everyones benefit Anton
  4. Copperband Butterfly is the only one i can think of off hand without checking, also there are Aiptasia eating Nudibranchs, but i think their tank life is alot on the short side, and if it croaks in your tank, you'll have to get it out quick in case it nukes everything along with it, although Joe's Juice is working quite well for me, just having a BUGGER of a problem with Bryopsis at the moment, even a phosban reactor is having no affect, i may b forced to try boiling the LR or getting a Foxface Rabbit fish HTH Anton
  5. PS. Happy Birthday Grav [beer2] [nana] [hro tng
  6. Hi Grav For my next tank i plan on building my own stand, i found a couple of websites with DIY destructions HTH Kingvinnies Aquaria DIY 135 Gal DIY Stand Keep us posted Anton [nana]
  7. No problem Dave, Pepsi's in the fridge as i speak, sorry don't do pretzels............yuuuuk Roughly 62 lbs for me, some nice pieces, as all have said not very porous, but quite holee, if you know what i mean. Several large chunks several medium and small and a few frag rocks too, all in all i'm happy with it. should have taken a pic but was too preoccupied with getting the rock work in, rewiring my MH's and Joe's Juicing some Aiptasia, Sorry I do like this Avatar, it says it all really Anton [nana] Ps. i ordered a Maxima and a Crocea from Clamsdirect.com, man i recommend those guys, excellent service from start to finish, even called up wednesday evening to check all was ok, only other online dealer to do that is Dr Mac, i give these guys 11 out of 10 [hro
  8. Finally got mine, turned up at 19:00 ish Haven't weighed it yet as am at work until 6am, but my fiance reliably informs me it's F***ing heavy. Reason it was a day late, they buggered up the address label during transit. Thanks Dave for all the ground work on this ]]]thx I owe you a beer Anton

    cpr2?

Just the usuals, Premium Aquatics, Marine depot, try ebay for a cheap used one. They're around the $160 mark with the Maxijet, you may also want to get the surface skimmer attachment, just a thought HTH Anton [ws]

    Skimmer

I must admit having seen the Euroreef up and running at MS on their display tank, it made me question my descision on purchasing the ETSS, but i don't care how good a skimmer it is, in my honest opinion for my size system the $800 is not worth it for some clear acrylic pipe and a couple of pumps. My ETSS is Sweeeeet Anton tng

    cpr2?

Aqua C Remora is the way to go, got one on my 46 gal, pulls tons of gunk, on a very lightly stocked tank clp]] HTH Anton

    Skimmer

I have an Iwaki 40 RT on my skimmer, but the Reef Devils take a Mag 7, and can handle a 150 gal. or you could run a pair of CPR bakpaks, or Remoras on the tank, check EBAY for cheap CPR's Aqua C's Anton gvl]]

    Skimmer

Take a look at ETSS Skimmers, i have the 600 professional, it's an excellent skimmer, just plumb it in turn it on and tweak the gate valve to the right water level and your good to go. I think everyone will have a different opinion of what skimmer you should get, as yo already know with this hobby, some things work for some folks and other things don't. HTH Anton [nana]
  15. Dave You got mail [hro Anton [beer2]
  16. If your after a local supplier i, don't know any cheaper than those you have already mentioned. But for online sales i got some of mine from Aquaticlight and cover the inside of your hood if you use one with Mylar from Aquatic Ecosystems Hope this helps Anton tng
  17. I bought some at the Aquarium Center on Friday and have just done a 10% water change. On first use impression i'm 50/50, yes it dissolves very quickly and is crystal clear after mixing, but my tank pH was low and i was hoping to raise it a tad with the water change, it didn't even raise it .1, so i might get rid of it, i'll give it the benefit of another couple water changes. it's $49 for 200 Gal bucket at aquarium center Anton
  18. Very cool fish Amber Got one myself, i love watching him get cleaned by my cleaner shrimp and Neon Gobie and he is always very active Nice looking tank too Anton [nana]
  19. Wally's is on Little River Turnpike, just of the 395 in Annandale right opposite the Ford Dealership. Steve the manager is a good guy, he's unfortunately doing all the new tank construction at the moment, i have mentioned the state of the tanks a few times to the staff, standard response is, "oh, uh, yeah, i'll get that out later". They've jacked up the prices to Marine Scene levels too ]]]bah Anton
  20. Your welcome anytime Xeon, family included. [hro Grav, thats ok, i'll buy a fish, bypass quarantine and dump it straight in so as to taint the tank, (sort of like spitting in your own beer) just kidding. ]]]bdwn Everything is pretty much automated on my reef except the feeding, do they make an auto feeder that keeps the frozen mysis,Brine & Bloodworm frozen until its dropped in???. The FOWLR isn't, doesn't have any fish yet either, so no probs yet. My neighbour keeps Oscars, i might ask him, Xmas is a busy time for all, so asking someone to check on the tank couple times a week is a big undertaking for anyone. Anton [beer2]
  21. Ok, which one of you guy's i gotta sleep with tng to look after mine for 3 weeks at Christmas, coz i gotta go back to the UK and see the Parents (mine and worst of all hers) [tr] ]]]hlp ]]]thx Anton
  22. There is a store here in Manassas, but the last time i was there, things didn't look too good, lot of dead fish in the tanks. It's next to the HD on Liberia, they had a few small tanks 75 Gal or so, there is Aquatic World in Leesburg behind HD on the 15 north. The place i've seen with the most tanks so far is the Aquarium Center in Randallstown near Baltimore, tons of tanks in all shapes and sizes. I'm in Manassas too if you need any help gimme a shout [nana] Anton
  23. I've got 800watts of 20000k above my 180, gonna up that to at least 1000watts soon. The bracings on mine get warm but nothing to worry about, and my lamps are about the same distance above the tank top as yours [nana] HTH Anton
  24. I agree with Eddi on the superpets front, some of their marine live stock looks rough, and service leaves a lot to be desired There is a shop in Leesburg that has a few tanks in stock, can't remember the name, it's behind the home depot & the Outlets on Rt 15, he has some odd fish from time to time. Aquarium Center in Randallstown has a great selection of fish, but their coral display tanks are a little on the crowded side, causing damage to each other. Wally's has a quite a few tanks, and they have just got a new coral wholesaler. HTH Anton BTW. is there a list of LFS's on the wamas website?
