  1. Have you considered Deltec Skimmers? The MCE600 is a really nice skimmer that requires very low maintenance, however a bit pricey... try this link http://www.deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/mce600.php
  2. those are good eatin! I just watched an episode of Bazaar Foods with Andrew Zimmer and he ate one of those... he said it tasted like beef...

  4. Hey Wreck can you post a pic of the superman zoas? I was thinking of buying some from him but the colors didn't seem to be on point from the pics on his site... Thanks!
  5. Matt, I would buy a new ehiem pump from euro-reef and do the deltec recirc mod on it, then the gate mod and the skimmer should run like a champ... I think total cost on your end might be a little over $100... no to bad for a great skimmer! check out the ER Recirc mod I posted the other day in this forum...

  8. the dorso pipe should have a air port open on the top, make sure thats not obstructed, the key is to let the air escape before it has the chance to flow downward towards the sump...

  10. I just might take you up on your offer, but most of the work will occur on Thursday & Friday Nights... I will be up late to try to get water in the tank this weekend... Thanks for offering to help, I will keep you in mind for later on!!! haha I know exactly what you mean... Thanks bro, seriously coming from a die hard DEADSKINS fan that means a lot!!
  11. maybe... I just might, however I will wait until the tank is fully setup before I rearrange the room...
  12. maxi-jet 1200...
  13. Use GE I silicone, it is 100% silicone without the additive for mold and what not... They have it at homedepot for $4 a tube, if you buy the All-glass silicone your gonna pay $12 a tube and you can if that at most LFS... I suggests using the GE I silicone though because you might go through a couple of tubes resealing an entire tank... For a tank that size though I would buy an new tank because they don't cost that much and you can maybe add a closed loop!!
  14. Bob any news on this tank tour?
  15. Thanks Sean!! I just made a massive order to finish the equipment wish list... over $2000 worth of stuff ordered today... Like I said before no Christmas or birthday presents for me for the next couple of years!! This Thursday should be fun....
  16. ES5-2+ I think its the one rated for 80 - 100 gallons heavy stocked... The pump is a ehime 3500
  17. Hey fellow WAMAS'ers just wanted to post something here about the skimmer MOD Mike did for me over the weekend... I thought it was way cool and easy to do this MOD... Needed parts listing: 3/4" uniseal 1" uniseal 1" PVC 90 elbow 3/4" PVC connector 1/2" tubing 1/2" Hose Barb Weldon #16 Glue Equipment Router PVC Cutters & Hack Saw silicone Hole saw Drill & Drill Bits TIME (2 Hours) Started off by cutting the 3/4" connector down 50% in size to reduce the total length of the pump attaching to the skimmer... Mike had to shave down the interior walls of the PVC fittings and the thickness of the pump intake nozzle to get them to fit correctly... Snug as a bug... Used a router to slim down the interior of the 1" elbow and a file for the pump nozzle.. Drilling the first main hole in the skimmer body is the next step... First measure the position of the pvc fittings and mark with a sharpy marker... Find the correct size hole saw for the uniseal, and the drill away! Mike drilled half speed on the drill to minimize melting and still give a clean cut of the acrylic... worked out nicely... Once drilled file off any rough spots and replace skimmer pump into its new configuration. Once the pump is in place a secondary hole is required for a main water feed line... This is accomplished by drilling a 1/2" hole near the top of the skimmer to force water downward... Use the 1/2" hose barb as a model to measure out your hole size... Once you have the hose barb in place seal the hole with WeldON #16 to close any uneven holes to prevent leaks.. Once you have that in place cut some 1/2" tubing to size and connect to your new recirculating Skimmer... Last but not least SMILE FOR THE CAMERA MIKE!!! And if your wondering if this skimmer MOD works well....
