A.ocellaris April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 Hi! So it looks like that my anthia only eats live food
hlem April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 Centreville Aquarium. may mix in live with frozen, and eventually just frozen?
Jon Lazar April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 Adult brine shrimp have very little nutrition on their own. But you can add something nutritious like Selcon or phytoplankton to their water container, and the brine shrimp will filter the Selcon out of the water and eat it. Then feed the brine shrimp to your anthia, and she'll get all the Selcon inside the brine shrimp. I would do exactly as hlem suggested to get her onto frozen food. A.ocellaris April 22, 2018 Author Share April 22, 2018 It’s hard when you have a few other fish in a qt tank. I think ill have to feed adult brine shrimp until I can isolate her when the treatment is over.
KingOfAll_Tyrants April 23, 2018 Share April 23, 2018 Here’s an online source that I’ve used before: http://www.aquaculturestore.com/Salt-Water-Invertebrates/ It’s expensive, and I would order mysids rather than brine cysts. But maybe it would work?
A.ocellaris April 23, 2018 Author Share April 23, 2018 Thank you KingOfAll_Tyrants! I'll try to get some of those if she does not start to eat frozen. A LFS gave me a sample of Rod's food and I am mixing in some live brine shrimp. It looks like she is eating more than just the live brine shrimp with this food.... (it's also hard to tell since she is so fast and sometimes spits out the food she doesnt like.)
