Hi Alan! It has been a bumpy ride with this tank [emoji4]. I recently got another ICP test back and I was happy to see that Vanadium is now around 6ppm (it was in the hundreds). Early this year tank crashed while I was traveling from work and lost many corals. The ones that survived are now slowly comimg back and coloring up nicely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting. I dose RedSea Alkalinity, Calcium and magnesium. Alk is between 8.2-9.2.

Hey guys, I know that people tell others not to chase pH, but the thing is that I've noticed my SPS are not as happy as they used to be (other parameters remain within range). pH is dropping to 7.40 during night and remains around 7.8 during the day (measured with two point-calibrated Hanna pH meter) . Opening windows is temporary fix and I am looking for a long term solution. Also, I can't throw an air line thru the wall. I have a CO2 scrubber attached to my worthless skimmer and it doesn't do much (i guess it does suck in much air to make a difference). Keep in mind this is an IM 40 (all in one), so sump is very limited. I guess I've tried several things and do not work well. My next idea is to add chaeto to a compartment with algae light and turn it on during the night? Not sure how much of a difference it would make though. Any recommendations?

Hey guys, Unfortunately, around 2am my pomp decided to die bringing down my breakers. I had to remove it from power to restore electricity to my apt. I have an IM Fusion 40 that i bought in 2017 and not sure what replacement I should be using. The new model comes with a MightyJet 22W/24V 538 GPH DC Return Pump w/ Controller. I assume this one will fit my AIO tank. Anyone has suggestion on replacements and where I can buy on like today? Tank is only running heater/wavemaker since 2am...

Biota is a bit misleading when they say their mandarins com in eating frozen. Mine didn’t and I had to hatch brine shrimp for a while. In a small tank I trained it to eat frozen baby brine shrimp. This fish requires lots of time to train and Id say a refugium is necessary. I have an issue... after todays storms And lightning I head a weird sound that came out of the tank’s cabinet. Now I realized that the ATO sensor/pump are not working. The sensor is not activating the pump, and when I connect the pump directly to the power outlet it is not strong enough to push water up. Ugh. Anybody recommends new ato and where I can get one asap?

I got the Avast since it was a gift certificate. I have been using it for months and the problem I have is that light reflects inside the tube and the image looks bad :/ is this why you dont recommend it?

Hey, I had to replace my old ATO sensor and someone recommended me the Hydor Smart Level Control. The issue is that every time my tank refills, the alarm goes off. It looks like that the pump is too quick for the sensor, but not sure what to do. Any recommendations? I opened the thing to see if I could cut the speaker, but I was unable to do so ?.

Also, it's important that you know the range of values of your salt. Salk like IO tend to have high alkalinity. Sometimes you do a lot to control Alk, but then perform a WC and it goes out of track again.

I am on the same boat here. My Alk consumption is not even, sometimes .50dkh per day and sometimes .25.

No. High alk will estimulate the coral to grow faster and if there is a lack in nutrients, you will see burned tips since the tissue cant keep up with fast growth.

Is this a good range for reef photography? I got it, but not sure if I should go with 100mm? My camera is not full sensor, so it add more range.

You will have to find the source of the metals in the water. Once you remove it you will need to do a big water change to bring them down. Also, using GFO without a good understanding of your tank needs, will drive everything else out of control and nuke your tank. Your Kalk will help you maintain pH while keeping calcium and alk stable (just dose it all at once, use it as you re-fill evaporation).
