I was thinking of setting up a happy hour at the restaurant I work at in Alexandria VA maybe next Wednesday or Thursday let me know if anyone would be interested in this

you still want to set up this happy hour? I'm down. The best way that I have found to set up a thing like this on a medium like a forum group is post a time and place and go. Trying to work with everyones schedule will kill it every time. make it a monthly thing maybe weekly if it really kicks off. Anyone that wants to join is welcome. So where are you thinking of having it?

WAMAS membership is so diverse and geographically spread out, that organizing little social things is hard to do if there isn't a specific hobby-related purpose.

(This most definitely has nothing to do with the original post but) Why not do something all of us can get involved in anywhere? Through a livestream? Giveaways, contests, speakers, tank tours, etc. it's not a very social thing like a bar but it's certainly inclusive. Plus I can't go to a bar. I'm 18. It would certainly be interesting to get live tank tours...

The OP was posting up just trying to get folks together, which if you've not tried to organize, is pretty challenging. The club does as much as possible to get everybody together, like our quarterly meetings, Frag Fest, and other events as they pop up. We are all "volunteers," meaning, nobody gets a paycheck for keeping the WAMAS wheels turning.

 

Those are all good ideas above, perhaps you could lead the charge!
