Thinking about getting a new aquarium around 200gal. Been a while since I bought a new one and was wondering what the opinions are on the different brands/styles.

thanks

With a tank of that size, acrylic is going to be easier to move if it's ever necessary. I think there are plenty of good choices out there. Decide your dimensions and see if you can find it stock or will need to go custom.

Acrylic tanks are like black or white sports cars, they look wonderful when clean, but dirty, not so much.  There are trade-offs with glass and acrylic tanks.  I would hate for you spend approximately $2K for an acrylic tank and three years later have regrets.  Recommend talking to acrylic tank owners with three or more years of service.

I think acrylic scratch easier (read that but never owned one) that's enough reason to keep me away unless it's super large or a sump

Reef Savvy

Miracles

SCA Aquariums (they just finished making one for me and the pictures look great. I should receive it next week)

Thanks for the inputs. I just got a quote from miracles. I really like the ghost overflows from Reef Savvy, anybody has any experience with those or the beananimal approach? thanks! SCA looks nice too, but their just tanks are really expensive. A 210gal for $4800?? Why? The miracles has starphire glass as well and is custom sized. just curious

I have a 100G Reef Savvy and have been really happy with it. I will second the concerns about moving it though. My 100G was heavy enough with 1/2" sides and a 3/4" bottom.

skip Miracles as theyve had some quality control issues lately. Coast to Coast does better work and isn't Canadian...

It could be Canadian, guy.

SCA should be the least expensive, by far. It shows as $3,000 on their site. It shows it as a "sale" price, but I don't think they actually have sales.

They quoted half the price of Reef Savvy for my basic 48x18x14 with clear silicon and no overflow. Starphire on all 4 sides.

yeah ok. 3k, I really hate advertising a high price just to show a fake sales price. anyway, I will give coast to coast a call and see how they compare to sca.

^ so did you end up buying the sca? Are you happy?

Thanks!

I got the quote back from reef savvy, and their prices are pretty competitive with SCA and others I've got quotes from so far.

I'm going to check out coast to coast next
