miller September 10, 2006 September 10, 2006 Great looking tank! I really like the emporer and want to put one in my new 300. Do you have may acros or clams ? how is he with them if you do? My 300 will be all SPS and clams
dbartco September 10, 2006 September 10, 2006 No I just need to catch a yellow and send your way No way. You need MORE tangs in that setup. LARGE ones. At least one more blue, and maybe a unicorn as well. At least another Pomamcanthus as well. Is that a siren I hear?
dschflier September 24, 2006 September 24, 2006 beautifull tank. That is very encouraging. My 210 display has a long way to go after looking at yours
Gatortailale December 19, 2006 Author December 19, 2006 I plan to take some new photos tonight of the tank. Was just looking back over the thread and noticed it was last December 25th that I was working on plumbing and then mid February I added saltwater and March 1 I added few test corals. Year went fast. Here is the updated stocking list: Pseudocheilinus ocellatus Mystery Wrasse 1 Euxiphipops Navarchus Blue Girdled / Majestic Angelfish 1 Pomacanthus Imperator Imperator / Emperor Angelfish 1 Centropyge Loriculus Flame Angelfish 1 Centropyge Potteri Potter's Pygmy Angelfish 1 Pseudanthias Squamipinnis Lyretail Anthias / Scalefin Anthias 3 Pseudanthias Bimaculatus Bimaculatus Anthias / Twospot or Twinspot Anthias 3 Zanclus Canescens Moorish Idol 1 Acanthurus Coeruleus Atlantic Blue Tang 1 Zebrasoma Xanthurum Purple Tang 1 Zebrasoma Flavescens Yellow Hawaiian Tang 4 Paracanthurus Hepatus Regal Tang 1 Acanthurus japonicus Powder Brown Tang 1 Amphiprion Ocellaris Ocellaris Clownfish / False Percula Clownfish 2 Nemateleotris Decora Purple Firefish 1 Synchiropus Splendidus Green Mandarin 1 Pseudochromis fridmani Fridmani Pseudochromis / Orchid Dottyback 1 Chrysiptera Parasema Yellowtail Damsel 1
JMsAquarium December 19, 2006 December 19, 2006 Looks great. Looking forward to seeing the next pics.
Gatortailale December 19, 2006 Author December 19, 2006 yeah!!! We need to see some pics! What time do you want me to pick you up so I can have a pro take the photos so you can see contents of tank rather than a bad photo. per gadget advice - use tripod.
dzekunoi December 19, 2006 December 19, 2006 So beautiful! Your Emperator does not touch the elegance? Mine elegance got killed fast by an evil Empress named Target :(
Gatortailale December 19, 2006 Author December 19, 2006 So beautiful! Your Emperator does not touch the elegance? Nope - most mine ever went after was open brain that I tested during tank move. Went and picked at it right in front of me as I as watching tank. Idol ate the sarco/toad and green finger leathers. So far that I notice, they don't pick on sps or clam.
Guest tgallo December 19, 2006 December 19, 2006 nice setup, love the emp angel. hows the morish idol, picky eater?.
davelin315 December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 Forget the pictures, I had a chance to stop by Craig's last night and pictures won't do it justice. The sheer number of fish and the colors that they have are enough to obscure the corals in the background. It's a wonderful looking tank and it's amazing the diversity of fish in the tank. Even though there are certainly more colorful fish in the tank, the Atlantic Blue Tang is amazing as is the tiny little hybrid Powder Brown/Gold Rim. There are so many different corals in the tank as well that this picture thread would have to be 100s of pictures long in order to see everything and notice it all. Anyway, super tank, looks awesome!
Gatortailale December 20, 2006 Author December 20, 2006 If only I had 1/100 the skill of 143gadgets or dhoch. Oh well, here is the promised photos: Full tank 12-19-06 Right Side Center Right Center Left Center Left Elegance
dandy7200 December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 Thanks for catering to us picture mongers Craig Tank looks stellar. Nice growth since the last update. BTW, I think your photography skills pretty darn good.
flowerseller December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 Nice pics Craig and no offense but the tank looks better in person.
Bendalat December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 very nice tank Craig. I love the angles. How big ar they? Khanh
jamesbuf December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 (edited) Awesome pics. I do have to agree with Chip though, as nice as the pics are, they still don't do the tank justice after seeing it in person. Edited December 20, 2006 by jamesbuf
martin December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 Does the banner fish bother your SPS? I would like to add some in my tank but worry about them picking apart the SPS.
jason the filter freak December 20, 2006 December 20, 2006 I don't think thats a banner fish but I could be wrong, isn't than a moorish?
Gatortailale December 20, 2006 Author December 20, 2006 Size - atlantic tang = almost 8" from mouth to tail - Emp = little shy of 7" mouth to tail. - majestic is 5+" max at least my guess of them Idol - so far does not pick on SPS - that I witness during daily views Idol also eats anything -nori, frozen mysis & brine, pe mysis, flake, pellets
Gatortailale December 20, 2006 Author December 20, 2006 Forgot to post this one last night. I'll try to finish painting rest of room so I can host tank tour in next few months.
keeperofthefish December 22, 2006 December 22, 2006 You've got a serious reef going on there! Gorgeous, healthy fish. Love to see schools of Zebrasoma...
Gatortailale January 25, 2007 Author January 25, 2007 Sorry, no photo updates - just wanted to say that I have had my Idol for 1 year and 2 days. - damage done to tank * Idol at Sarcophyton in half (I have one tiny piece that survived and is growing in stock tank. * Idol at green finger leather. Outside that, its been a great fish. Eats as mentioned above.
Gatortailale February 7, 2007 Author February 7, 2007 Few quick shots not very good but camera ran out of batteries on last one.
