brad908 November 20, 2013 Author November 20, 2013 You should add one of these to keep the surface clean. http://www.quantumreefs.com/Tunze-Comline-Filter-3162_p_47646.html I thought about it. I think the 2 mp10's will be moving so much water that there won't be any surface scum. We will see
Gadgets November 20, 2013 November 20, 2013 I thought about it. I think the 2 mp10's will be moving so much water that there won't be any surface scum. We will see I doubt it with their positions in the tank. Without an overflow box it is almost impossible to completely eliminate surface scum. I think this would work great and you could hide it in the black area to the left of the higher mp-10. Just my thoughts. :-)

brad908 November 25, 2013 Author November 25, 2013 Tank water finally cleared on Saturday, then I decided to play in the sand and it was terrible. Woke up this morning and back to being 100% clear. Other than that, no updates. Got a new car on Saturday too
YHSublime November 25, 2013 November 25, 2013 Looking good, although it's a bit hard to see the tank 100%, place looks nice, and car looks amazing. What's it like living the dream?

No good pics of the tank till coral is in it Cali is amazing. Mid 60's to mid 70's and sunny everyday. Don't think I can ever move back east.

smallreef December 9, 2013 December 9, 2013 Yup. SPS is sooooo 2013. Will be getting a couple monti caps tho. And when you have to leave...it's soooo much easier to have someone help take care of!
sachabballi reef December 9, 2013 December 9, 2013 And when you have to leave...it's soooo much easier to have someone help take care of! why?
sachabballi reef December 9, 2013 December 9, 2013 but why is it easier? isn't it harder since you don't really have to feed SPS but you do LPS...otherwise everything else is the same...fish, water level...emergencies etc....i have one of each tank and I don't think its any easier for someone to watch while away...was just curious what I was missing LOL
smallreef December 9, 2013 December 9, 2013 If the water isn't changed for 15 or 20 days nothing horrible will happen, lol If your 'friend' over feeds the tank ,except extreme cases, nothing horrible will happen.... And if your temp swings a bit more than normal...LPS don't usually run and stn over it...
sachabballi reef December 9, 2013 December 9, 2013 i suppose that is all true...i would hate to be brads tank sitter...talk about pressure.
howaboutme December 9, 2013 December 9, 2013 Brads an expert reef keeper. He keeps nanos because he actually takes the tanks with him on vacation. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
