I went with a guy in Pa who was selling frags as well. This guy used FedEx Ground overnight, (might as well have used USPS, about the same service). The 6 frags I ordered ended up somewhere other than my house, as they showed delivered at 11am that day (in July). Found them the next morning at my door with a note from the person they got delivered to by mistake. To my surprise, everything lived! Total of 2 days bagged sitting in the July sun for a full day...

So sorry for your loss here man! I loved the fact that you were intending on spreading the wealth locally, you are on my free frag list. If you ever see anything I have that you want, just let me know and it is yours!

I am so sorry. And the thing about shipping these animals is yeah we usually get our money back or credit, but it is an animal and didn't need to die.

That's the local usps for me... sigh

that's pretty bad and i dont know what's worse that review or that almost all USPS offices around us are all rated under 2.

i agree. there are slip up and mistakes some times and nothing much we can do but throughout the course of it there were five or six times where something could have been done and all was promised and nothing fulfilled. quite an experience.

That happened to me once and it sucked i know....

What was it suppose to look like?

it was purple, yellow, orange, with clouds/speckled. it was  and   and a good starter size for the propagation system at around 5"

Now ill never order anything living online. Or shipped or whatever. They delivered you a bag of goo.

i certainly won't ever use USPS again but i will continue buying livestock online. this is one negative experience out of many positive with other couriers.

Yeah FedEx or ups. I'm not concerned about wasting money. Just it's sad to have an animal in a box bouncing around for days. Probably being thrown and crushed into trucks by workers who hate their jobs.

and how do you think livestock arrive at the LFS? the LFS has to undergo the same problems just a lot more frequently because of volume. there are some folks like ERC who go and hand pick and bring back their goods personally to shorten the chain of custody and minimize stress but i don't know too many other shops that do that.

we learn tricks to get them home safer (like mentioned above about picking up at a hub) or as a vendor picking up at cargo at airport but you just do the best you can and keep going. don't let it get you down about the hobby; it was a learning experience for me.

All of your fish and livestock are ordered, then shipped in many thousands of boxes per day. Sometimes they are in transit for 48-72 hours depending on where they are shipped from.
