Cliff Puckstable July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 rapidleddotcom I just put some over my 5 gallon nano, and it looks awesome.
smallville July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 I have two of the 12" lights above my 7.5 gallon nano and everything was doing well until I found several pests enjoying a buffet with my coral). http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=24397
hawkfish01 July 3, 2013 Author July 3, 2013 I was lookin at finnex ray 2,fluval reef nano( even though out of range)...if i get par 38 how many would i need??
smallville July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 Depends on the dimensions. I used to have one on my current acrylic cube which is 12x12x12 and one par 38 was more than enough. However I put it on my 18x18x18 acrylic cube and ended up needing at least 2-3 because of the spot light effect.
hawkfish01 July 3, 2013 Author July 3, 2013 Tank is standard 10 gal rimmed,10"deep to bottom 20" long...currently has mostly lps....at the moment....
hawkfish01 July 3, 2013 Author July 3, 2013 Full dimesions are :10" wide front to back,20" long,10" deep top to bottom...would this tank need 1 or 2 par 38's....
Neto July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 Lights is the most important equipment to grow corals and its a one time investment. If you go cheap now, you will eventually buy the more expensive unit and end up paying more overall.
Clyde July 13, 2013 July 13, 2013 Here is the Solar Flare that I got for my 8 gal from Quantum Reefs for about $80. Love it so far and should be bright enough.
Boomer July 13, 2013 July 13, 2013 I was lookin at finnex ray 2,fluval reef nano( even though out of range)...if i get par 38 how many would i need?? I'm new to saltwater but I'm using a finnex ray 2 24" on my 15 gal (12" high) and it seems to be doing a great job. I'm only keeping sofites and a couple LPS but they are all doing well. The light is very bright and has a sleek design.
TheyCallMeMr.703 July 14, 2013 July 14, 2013 If you went with the Par38's, I'd get 2 for sure, that way you will have Full coverage that should look Smooth and Clean.
matt July 14, 2013 July 14, 2013 Evergrow d120...if there is another group buy. You could use it over the 10 now and it would also still be useful if you ever switch gears

smallreef July 27, 2013 July 27, 2013 Yeah...you could easily keep it dialed down and when you get a bigger tank your still able to use it or add one if its a longer tank...
nova423 November 17, 2013 November 17, 2013 Nanobox mono. I run one on my 10 gallon and its phenomenal.
