Here is the Solar Flare that I got for my 8 gal from Quantum Reefs for about $80. Love it so far and should be bright enough.

As I said, I put down a small rock in the sand and put the clam on it. Being so small,maybe an inch. How wide should it open? It opens enough that I can see it bright yet small mantle.

I have 24 gal cube. As far as light I have a coralife with actinics and 150w halide. I have about 3 inches of substrate. I think it should have enough light at substrate level. I may put a small flat rock in the sand and put it there.

I just got a very small maxima clam, about 1 inch. It does not want to stay on the rock. Should I just let it be on the substrate? It seems happy there. Thanx

Cleaning my tank I noticed about 6 or so small, what I think are Ball Anemone. They are very neat.. ? is, are the bad? I have not added anything to my tank in over 1 1/2 years. Nothing but water... They are all under rock in caved areas.. Any thoughts.

My coralife aquapro actinics have not been working. I bought new ones about 7 months ago and they still do not work.No time of money to buy new lighting. I have been running the blue leds during the day and the metal halide comes on at 4pm and off at 7:30ish. All was well but recently my hammer has been closing up more and more each day. DO they NEED actinic lighting? or is the halide too much?. All was great until my actinics went out. All water perams ar spot on. Any suggestions? Thanx

THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SIZE OF A LARGE GRAIN OF RICE. I THINK IT MAY BE A WOUND FROM THE DAMSEL. I MAY LOWER MY SALINITY A BIT JUST IN CASE.

I have never had ick in my tank. It has been an est. tank for 2 years. Nothing has been added to the tank in 9 months. My clown this AM has a fuzzy white spot on its side. He does get "into it" with one of my 3 stripe Damsels. Think it might be a bite? or ick? No pics I'm at work.

So I moved my 24 gal yesterday to our new house and this a.m. my clown has some white slime on it. It does host a hammer coral and it looks like the slime from when the hammer gets stressed. Could it be ick? didn't see it last night at 11pm. Saw it today at 6am. Can ick set in that fast?

They seem to have a bit of a crescent shape to them, if that helps.

I have what looks like small bubbles on the back of my nano cube 24 gal. I can't get a good pic. I can scrape them off but not sure if I should. All is good in my tank. Up and running for about 6-7 months, good coraline growth, fish and coals are doing well perams are all in range only mg is a bit low. Any ideas? I will keep trying to get a photo. Thanks! Got an OK pic. doesn't look good:O(

To respond to a few ?'s. my nitrates and nitrites are at 0. I do frequent water changes, could be the problem. I have good water flow. They are at the bottom of my 24 gal. jbj. Lighting is coralife 150w MH. I think I will side with "they just do this sometimes" . I will clean it off and see what happens. Thanx all

My star polyp has not opened in weeks. I thought it was the galaxia stinging it but that has been out of my tank for 3 days now. every other coral and fish are doing great. Here is a pic. I thought I saw some white spots on it (might be sand) you can't realy see it in this pic. HELP. Thanx
