Orion July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 These small greenish looking bubbles are on this acro, and some of the live rock.
Orion July 2, 2013 Author July 2, 2013 Nice... I see it popping up around the live rock. Just starting running GFO a few days ago too. Hopefully that helps, and picking it out too
sachabballi reef July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 Don't squish it if you can avoid it...no sense releasing spores into the water....
Orion July 2, 2013 Author July 2, 2013 Looks like a turkey baster should suck them right up. These look like the easier ones to remove. Fortunately they haven't spread around a lot. Maybe 3 or 4 tiny bunches. I'll be careful not to pop them.
sachabballi reef July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 You may find a finger easier to remove them...they kinda stick onto the rock/coral pretty good....
swimmatte July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 Don't squish it if you can avoid it...no sense releasing spores into the water.... +1 If you go around popping them you'll be in a world of hurt. They are fairly sturdy though for the most part so just be gentle.
pizzaguy July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 I've ran gfo from day one in my tank. Personally don't think it helps with bubble algae at all.
YHSublime July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 Definitely bubble algae. and it will grow if you let it. I've popped a few as they root so nice onto my rock it's been inevitable. It's addicting....fun to pop OUT of the tank too lol I'm glad you feel that way, Jenn! Stop on by and I'll help feed your addiction!
sachabballi reef July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 I've ran gfo from day one in my tank. Personally don't think it helps with bubble algae at all. Technically it removes the nutrients in the water starving them... I think only dipping everything and taking all frags off their mounts before adding to tank will prevent...they are tough little buggers...the problem is their roots are deeper than you can see...so if you don't see them when you put it in the tank doesn't mean they won't be there soon...

Stop on by and I'll help feed your addiction! +1 you will pop some by accident....and it feels like it does when you are playing Ms PAC Man and the little ghosts are blue when you go to eat them but change too quickly and you die...THAT level of frustration ha ha ...oh you youngings....that's the worlds best video game...and very addicting...come on over and play the arcade game in my basement lol...it's a "classic" I won't even make ya pay the quarter.... Isaac I would!!! I love removing them lol...totally Harkens back to bubble wrap I'm sure
Hminor00 July 2, 2013 July 2, 2013 Had my share but seems to just pop up at times but very few, Just dont pop them if you can avoid it.
swimmatte July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 It's addicting....fun to pop OUT of the tank too lol That's weird..... I bet you were the girl that liked going around popping guys pimples back in high school too huh?

Origami July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 You're gross Matthew Uh oh. That's Mama Jenn talking. You're in trouble now, Matt. (Sent from my phone)
Coral Hind July 3, 2013 July 3, 2013 If you do pop them it isn't that big of a deal as they are only reproductive at certain stages, normally when larger.
Orion July 3, 2013 Author July 3, 2013 Thanks all for the quick info. When I get a chance I'll see if I can remove them. On another note - coralline algae is starting to grow rapidly on the rocks, and the back of the tank. Which is the only algae I want!
