FrankieGee June 15, 2013 June 15, 2013 At a lfs and am wondering if this is good or bad for the tank?
freshfins June 15, 2013 June 15, 2013 Yes, it's Aiptasia. It's bad bad bad bad bad! Unless you're trying to breed Berghia nudibranchs. Otherwise bad bad bad!
Incredible Corals June 15, 2013 June 15, 2013 Good for a peppermint shrimp tank for free food but that's about it
FrankieGee June 15, 2013 Author June 15, 2013 (edited) I won't be going back to that place again. lol. Everything had aiptasia on it-the rocks, glass, corals, tubing, and they were huge. It was crazy to see so much and so big of pieces. Edited June 15, 2013 by FrankieGee

It was crazy to see so much and so big of pieces. If its in a fish or invert system it's not a big deal and actually preferred. They will eat up a lost of waste. You just don't want aptasia in a coral tank. We keep lots of peppermints in our coral tank for get reason. Ill give a free frag if you can find one
jimlin June 16, 2013 June 16, 2013 welp, about aiptasia. so i put some in my sump and changed my mind. i took out all that i could see and today while i was changing out the return pump i found some inside the filter chamber of my mag pump. now i am wondering if any made it to the display. those suckers are hard to get rid of.
L8 2 RISE June 16, 2013 June 16, 2013 Now that is some gorgeous and healthy aptaisia! It almost takes skill to grow that! Was it Roozens? Or what LFS?

jimlin June 16, 2013 June 16, 2013 wow those spread fast...I thought you only had them in there for a pretty short time? yup, very short time. i think it was two days. they moved around all over my sump. i had to drain the sump and razor blade the glass to get them out and yet some still got away.
