Well, I was changing water in my home system tonight just a small 10% change 40 gal or so. Typical routine change except I decided to hit my gravity feed refugium with a little flatworm exit since I saw a few regular flatworms on the glass. Then took 20 gallons out of the refugium sucking out the dead flatworms, then moved the siphon to the frag tank, then to the main tank. Well, when I moved from the frag tank to the main tank the end of the siphon hose popped out of the drain can and shot right under my tank and went all over my 2 DC8s, which controlled the whole system from lights, heaters, fans, ozone, CO2 etc....I saw an orange glow coming from one before the circuit blew, followed by the second circuit blowing. Long story short, took all the dc8s apart, to find very little water but they are both fried......so I am limping along tonigh hoping BRK has a couple of DC8s in stock! lol

Sorry, John. However, on the bright side, I'd much rather have a problem like this surface while I'm standing there than if I was away.

I screwed up last night too. I was watching TV and turned to look at the tank and saw it was blowing mirco bubbles like crazy from the return. I run into the garage and see that the 150g sump is near empty. I replaced the carbon in my GSA reactor earlier and forgot to secure the reactors return hose inside the sump. It slid out of the sump and dumped about 100g onto my garage floor.

Well, that "blows"! Get it? I guess until then, gonna have to nurse it along. Seriously though, hope you get er back on its feet soon.

I'll detail my mistake later...unfortunately mine involves more death and stupidity

I hope it didn't involve all those nice corals in the 90!!

If you had a "Suc O Meter" that would be all the way up on the scale.

I wouldnt want to purchase one because I have a feeling I would wear it out very quickly....

Well, after about 3 hours of testing some old dc8s I had at the shop, and hooking things back up, I seem to be back up and running. the real test will be tomorrow when everything kicks on through the cycles. fingers crossed

best of luck, with all the support you show the boards just post up if you need something as im sure you know.

Thanks, and I appreciate that! As I was a hobiest before I added the Marine aspect to BRK, it was the need of the WAMAS comunity that build our store and reputation. If anyone has not been in, for a while there are some changes coming that is just going to furthur the future of the store.
