Okay, so I went to Home Depot... and not only do they NOT bend pipe, they dont even carry pipe benders in store... then I was thinking...

if someone has one... can we have a "pipe bending day" with you or at the meeting??? (for a nominal fee of course) so it saves the rest of us who will only ever need it for this one time

Pretty Pretty Please :)

Also, would appreciate any other suggestions. Looked at the galvanized pipe idea and for my length Id need it cut, and BOY dont you know, they dont do that neither for the size and diameter I need....

ahhh Ill check harbor freight this weekend... good call, one down the street from me...

PVC wouldnt be strong enough to hold 2 units... not if I want most of the structure of the holder hidden...

i remember seeing it for sale at the alexandria store a couple months back. have to see if they still have the bender at that location

Kim, Are you sure...the Home Depot in Woodbridge did'nt have any? I could have swore I saw them...they are in the Electrial department by the Conduit...Maybe it was Lowes....???

The plumbing guy sent me to hand tools, lol wasnt in there...i looked in electrical at the end but didnt see it? Eh

Either way im kinda fed up with this HD...never anyone to offer help and when i ask...in their own department, they dont know...

This HD sucks...and im an HD addict...sad really

I have one, can't remember if it's 1/2" or 3/4". If I remember I will bring it to the meeting for you to use. Send me a reminder before the meeting via PM.

I have never heard of a pipe bender for PVC. So is there really an easier way to do it than using a heat gun and sand?

that's because they're talking about galvanized pipe...

I have a pipe bender. I live in Pasadena MD and work in Arlington. We could work something out. I could also bring it with me when I pick up my lights from monkiboy.

Yeah..im going with electrical conduit...not as heavy as plumbing piping...(which needs a hydraulic press to bend it)

Ill see what my harbor freight has, and if it doesn't then if someone brings theirs to the meeting, that would be awesome :)

Well EMT or electrical metalic tubing is not pipe but tubing. It is galvanized but it thin wall and you need a tubing bender to bend it. I have those as I was an electrician but I don't live next door to you so I can't bring it. Galvanized pipe or rigid pipe is thick walled and the same thickness as plumbing pipe but made from slightly different steel in a different way. It is bent with a pipe bender or pipe hickey. I also have those but again, not going to do you any good.

You can bend PVC with heat but you can also buy 45s and 90s for it. All these pipes can be easily cut with a hack saw.
