tomle November 9, 2012 November 9, 2012 Im looking to buy the LED fixture for my 120 gallon tank ( 48'' long, 24'' wide,24'' deep). Wonder what's other led brand is best for reef tank out there? Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.
Minh B. November 9, 2012 November 9, 2012 My setup is run strictly with 2 Acan 600PA 18" which comes with the colored (red, amber, green, cyan, magenta), white (12000K) and blue (460 nm). So far I love these lights (recently got in the hobby so no experience with the MH/T5s). The only thing is that there is an adjustment period for both the user and the corals...these lights are super bright at full capacity. Mind you, this 70W is supposed to give off more light than a 250W MH. I have it programmed (you can program intensity for white/blue/moon) and timed to reach 85% capacity (I had it at 100% and my corals weren't too happy) daily, with a 28-day lunar cycle (a nice feature) and a 15 minute lightning phase (I know, a little excessive). So far, the maxi clam and monti are happy.
SunWyrm November 9, 2012 November 9, 2012 ^+1 I'm also doing Acan lighting on my 360g. So far lots of growth on everything and I'm very happy with the range of colors it brings out. QuantumReefs has a demo video on their youtube channel, but you really have to see them in person.

zygote2k November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 You could go with the Vertex Illumina... It's probably hands down the best LED fixture made that is currently on the market. There's a WAMAS member that goes by "Selbo" who has one over a 180. You might ask him how he likes it.
NAGA November 10, 2012 November 10, 2012 I agree.....having used all of the above the Vertex is hands Dow "the best" made.
tomle November 12, 2012 Author November 12, 2012 Wow...vertex illumina is a little bit pricy for me. Uhm any other good light around $400- $700 range?
Matt LeBaron November 13, 2012 November 13, 2012 save your money and buy it right the first time. This 1000 times. I'd have a lot of extra money and time if I had this piece of advice when I was starting out.
