EGKS October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 About 15 min ago Lowes in Chantilly has about 15 1000W generators at $1400 each.
flooddc October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 Did they jacked up their prices on generators? 1KW generator for $1400?
miggs76 October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 I'm hoping thats 10000 watts not 1000...i paid $329 for a 4000 watt generator....... .
dbartco October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 maybe 10,000W? I think that is illegal to price gouge like that isn't it?
Der ABT October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 even for 10k thats pretty high unless its a honda should be right around 1k for 10,000w
STEVE October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 Depending on the Make and Model, $1200 for a 10k generator is very normal. I have a 3500 watt Honda EU that sells for $2500.00, but it is an inverter generator, makes a big difference. Inverters are far less noiser. I just spent 600.00 for a 5000watt Homelite that will run pretty much my whole house, less the AC, Stove, Dryer, Microwave, ...everything else though.
Der ABT October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 those honda's sold alot cheaper before the tsunami (bought a eu3000 in 02/03 for a fraction of their cost now and it runs under 60 decibles....
STEVE October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 I use it mostly in the racecar trailer Evan! I love that thing !!!
Big Country October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 If it's like the Lowes up here was the other day they are getting in the Generac brand of generators which are substancially more expensive than their other generators.
426HEMI October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 Probably right if it is a 10kw generac. I paid 800 for a 5.5kw yesterday.
