MBVette January 14, 2012 January 14, 2012 So I was working on my BC, and the dog wanted to go for a walk. So not thinking of anything I left the top off the tank and took the dog out for 15-20 minutes. I came back as found the tail of one of my snowflakes in my cats mouth and the other snowflake gone. I about killed the cat I was so pissed. I can't believe she was able to catch them.
MBVette January 14, 2012 Author January 14, 2012 I knew my cat was a good hunter by the way she plays, she is actually incredibly fun and plays fetch an stalks anything that moves. I guess I should have payed more attention to the way she pawed at the outside of the tank.
Max Ivers January 14, 2012 January 14, 2012 My angler ate my ORA picasso which was getting used to my tank in my fuge. The picasso was 2x the size of the angler and after the bugger ate him he didnt eat for 2 weeks. Guess it was a rich meal
jason the filter freak January 14, 2012 January 14, 2012 I got a dog thats not much of a cat fan, you won't eat the cat or anything but all the same you borrow my puppy for a little bit. All joking aside, really sorry to hear about your loss, hopefully your other snowflake is hiding.
MBVette January 14, 2012 Author January 14, 2012 It's only a 14g tank not many places to hide :(. Now I need to decide wether to restock this tank or not. If te cat can get them once, I'm sure she can them again.
treesprite January 14, 2012 January 14, 2012 Wow, that's awful. If it had been damsels it might have been funny. My cats have no interest in my tank.
davelin315 January 15, 2012 January 15, 2012 Train it with a venomous or aggressive fish! Let it get bit or stung once and then it'll never go near any fish tank or fishy cat food again! Sorry to hear that, I've only had a cat grab a frog that jumped out of a tank and a betta out of a vase it knocked over.
LanglandJoshua January 15, 2012 January 15, 2012 Wow, sorry to hear that! Maybe next time some netting, and or egg crate.
MBVette January 15, 2012 Author January 15, 2012 The tank has a lid, just left it open for a bit while walking the dog.
extreme_tooth_decay January 15, 2012 January 15, 2012 I once watched my cat jump up on top of my tank (lid on one side), and reach it's paw into the tank...only to be bitten by my huge Oscar. Cat yelped, and went and hid under the table for about 2 hours. Never did it again.
