dbartco July 6, 2011 July 6, 2011 Well hasn't the summer already started flying by? We are now only days away from our summer fragfest. To make this meeting a success, we need to lean on all of our members to make sure everyone has a great time. Please bring: 1) If you have corals you can contribute, we will rid them of their excess! Bring in your "too large for my tank" corals and we will delicately ( ) reduce them to your desired size. Mushrooms, leathers, xenia, you name it, we will slice it. POST HERE IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO FRAG. 2)Water - 1.025 Salinity NEW water. POST HERE IF YOU CAN BRING WATER, WE NEED A LOT. 3)Powerheads for water circulation in the tanks 4)Heaters. 5) Towels for cleanup 6) A sense of community, patience, and respect. And this is very importantant. This fragfest is all about sharing the hobby with the members, new and old. Pass down what you have recieved in the past. Share the wealth and propagate. There is no room here for greed. We are not charging for these corals (though we reserve the right to on rare and expensive corals). Share with your fellow hobbyists. And most of all respect the speaker and the presentation. There is going to be a LOT going on on that Sun. I WILL BE THE QUIET POLICE, even though I hate it . If you do not wish to listen to the speaker, get out and stay out until the presentation is over. I WILL ASK YOU TO STAND IN THE 90+ degree heat if you are interupting. Please do not come for the free corals and not abide by simple common courtesy.

I should be able to bring a couple of powerheads (Rio 2100 / MaxiJet 900) and possibly a heater and/or bucket of water. I may also have an acan or two that could be fragged.
dbartco July 6, 2011 Author July 6, 2011 Thanks James. I have another sps tricolor that I am bringing, and and RBTA that will go into the auction.
Fazio92 July 6, 2011 July 6, 2011 Thanks James. I have another sps tricolor that I am bringing, and and RBTA that will go into the auction. I will bring a B&W Clown to go towards the auction/raffle. RBTA/clown combo hmmm... -Anthony
Supernova26 July 6, 2011 July 6, 2011 I can bring a couple of buckets of water (10gal) + a heater. Do I need to bring them a bit earlier for setup?
Reefoholic July 7, 2011 July 7, 2011 I am trying to get the day off of work so that I can make it to frag fest! I can also bring couple power heads and a heater. I only have two home depot buckets but if need be I can bring those as well. I might even be able to mix some water, too. Should I also bring my fragging tools??? Hehehe

roni July 7, 2011 July 7, 2011 I should be able to bring some extra powerheads and heaters. will search through the garage. I've also got some cap frags I can donate to be fragged and given to newbies.

LCDRDATA July 8, 2011 July 8, 2011 I should be able to bring a couple of powerheads (Rio 2100 / MaxiJet 900) and possibly a heater and/or bucket of water. I may also have an acan or two that could be fragged. If you're interested I can also bring a couple dozen square slate pieces I've been using for frag plugs - here are a couple of shots showing what they look like:
dbartco July 12, 2011 Author July 12, 2011 water is the main thing. We use a lot becuase we rinse the frags and put in clean water before sending them home with anyone.

This is probably a stupid question but do you want the water premixed or not. If so, what SG do you want? If you couldn't tell, I'm new here :-)

Guest thefishman65 July 12, 2011 July 12, 2011 doug what do you still need? Last year you had a problem with lighting IIRC. Not enough for the video camera or something. Do you want a fluorescent fixture? I also have a white Par38 you can borrow, but no fixture.
donnievaz July 12, 2011 July 12, 2011 I can bring at least 5 gallons. I don't have an RO unit, is distilled OK?
DaveS July 12, 2011 July 12, 2011 Any one got a brute trash can they can bring? Since the water isn't meant to go in our tanks, it can be mixed on site with dechlorinated tap water. That and a few heaters an hour beforehand should be fine. I have a 50G bag of salt I can provide. One small problem is that I'm not sure how early I can get there so I might need to get the bag to someone else.
dbartco July 12, 2011 Author July 12, 2011 I have no problems with mixing there as long as it is done ahead of time and the water is well mixed and oxygenated. I do not want to send someone home with caustic poorly mixed water that kills their new frags.
Brian Ward July 12, 2011 July 12, 2011 I can mix new water but I sold all my containers to Chip. If someone near DC has containers to bring by I can supply 30 gallons of water.
