Good ozone reactors are really rare and that looks like a nice one. One thing to keep in mind...AVAST has been working on a revolutionary new reactor for about a year. It is going to be very simple and affordable. You might want to hang on a little longer.

Thanks, Basser. I, too, have been waiting for Avast to bring their product to market. It was talked about during the summer - we saw a prototype and several early versions are said to be out for testing. The production version was expected in the last few months, but does not seem to be out yet.

The new Avast design is expected to be a pressure reactor with a spray nozzle and bio-bale like material inside. Each of these features goes to making the reactor much more efficient.

(It's also supposed to be an all-in-one, wall- or panel-mounted design, too.)

I sure hope they'll bring it out soon, though!

Here's my Avast All-in-One O3 Rx "Prototype". It's been running for about 4 months now and couldn't be happier about its craftsmanship and performance. If you can hold out for the production model, it's definitely worth it!

I WISH avast would just make the reactor some of us dont need the other parts.

The sulfur reactor from cleartides that has the sulfur inside a tube inside the carbonite is something i wish they would make

to as these type of reactors are all over the uk/germany etc.

More then likely i will be ordering from cleartide i like there stuff and prices......

WOULD PREFER TO BUY LOCAL MAYBE AVAST NEEDS TO STEP IT UP.

I DID ASK AVAST WHAT THE PRICE MIGHT BE ON THERE KIT OR JUST THE REACTOR THEY DID NOT KNOW........THAT WAS LAST YEAR

I spoke to Justin a few weeks ago and it should be soon. Both him and Dan had some things going on around the new year.

Be patient, as with most of their stuff it will be well worth the wait.

Maybe Justin and Dan are just having trouble thinking of a new clever name for the reactor

LOL. Justin has a baby due any day now. I think that's reasonable enough to qualify as "busy" for any of us.

no TOm, i don't think personal stuff should ever slow down production, I mean really, I have to WAIT for an ozone reactor b/c Justin and Dan have a LIFE... shame on them, I dont have a life.

PS this was an attempt at humor

Patience, grasshopper :) They won't know how much it costs until they've finalized the design. This isn't a government contract, after all ;)

IME Avast has innovative designs and uses a reefer-friendly business model. Who else has DIY kits, parts for your own DIY designs, widgetry that no one else has designed, and great prices?

Wow, that is much nicer than mine. I wonder if I can send it back for the upgrades.

The baby came out 2 days ago.

LOL, expected ship date is 2-9. Production models are decided, pricing, specs, etc will all be available before end of month. Pictures should be up next week. We actually decided on final specs a while ago but biz has been really good in the last few months for us and things take longer to get to market than they used to.

Pretty close.

Pressure based with internal restrictions so no valve fiddling, media bio-bale style, venturi/water/o3 mixing pre-reaction plate, not all in one. We decided modular was the way to go and allows for more sizes and options that are not "one size fits all". Also allows for people to use their own post carbon/media reactor if they already have one. AVAST built-yes, 3 sizes. YOU built-yes, 3 sizes. Lot's of options.

Evolution in the positive direction! Thanks, Dan, for the update.

MY DIY needs replacement was just like the new precision marine one that they just came out with.

Would love for someone to make one with a spray nozzle but do not think i will ever see that on a hobby ozone reactor

made in this country.

Maybe AVAST can get ahold of some injector/spray nozzles and put them on there site.

How have you determined that a spray nozzle will increase performance?

(edited)

The best reactor i ever used was built by a company out of ny about 20 years ago.

It had a spray nozzle of there own design that was simple and a joy to use.

I ONLY WANT TO GET MY ORP TO 400 AND KEEP MY WATER CLEAR and have a reactor that wont leak and is priced right.

trying to disenfect my reef with ozone is not a goal and not possible because of the organics in reefwater.

People confuse drinking water /toilet water with reeftanks....different goals.

WAITING TO SEE THE PRICES.......

that's sweet

i want one

I want one as well. I have been waiting since the last frag meet and saw there display, and I was pumped then! Also my pump went out on my bubble king skimmer and the manufacture said it would not be good for my bubble king to get that constant exposure from Ozone going through it. So put me on the.. list Mates. It would be for my 240 display. with sump around 300 Gallons.
