Helfrichi fire fish

Any one have experience with the finest fire fish of them all??? is it coral safe? what does it easy? hopefully can live off flake food..... Any suggestions for this fish.... would it get along with a watchman goby?

If you're talking eats I'd bet flakes, pelleted, and frozen.

they are awesome...had 2 until my eel ate them...never jumped out of my open top tank..

Mine eats pretty much anything including formula one flake.

I do have a purple firefish he has been bothered by my 6 line and a blue tang. If do you want, I sell. $15 or frade for frag. He eats flakes etc.

Reef suitability is great! Although, meaty foods will eventually need to be offered, as this fish is a meat eater!

+1 .. I was actually going to go with a varied diet. We have lots of food choices (mostly frozen, but a variety of frozen packs) that we feed to all of our fish.

Sounds great. My girl always says that I put WAY more thought into what I feed my animals, than what I feed myself. Haha. But hey, they're happy!

 

Also, be careful with this fish. I've heard a few stories of it jumping out of even the smallest of holes if really frightened.

definitely coral safe. fine compatibility with a watchman goby. while saltwater fish can live off of flake, it's not recommended as the only food - you need to feed a varied diet to maintain health and coloration. firefish jump, so you need a covered tank.

very hardy. i like them in pairs, and YES glass tops a must or $100+ will be on the floor!

Truly a beautiful fish. A past member had one that she was auctioning off, and it must have gotten impatient for a new home because it went carpet surfing - such a shame.
