Chris- May 12, 2010 May 12, 2010 Picked this fish thing up in a net when I was scooping in the weeds for gold. Dont think it is as valuable as gold but I have no idea what it is either. Any ideas? Paul, where are you you old salty dog? I bet you would win the cookie on this one!

jason the filter freak May 12, 2010 May 12, 2010 Was hoping it was going to be a nice beach bunny macro
Chris- May 12, 2010 Author May 12, 2010 Bait!? Man, u suck! ha ha ha ha Well, just wanted to make sure whatever it is I could toss it in the DT and it would not eat me fishies. Then again, it looks like it has a small mouth. When it tries to eat scallops, it looks like it is sucking it into its mouth with a straw, no big gulps like my anthias.
Chris- May 12, 2010 Author May 12, 2010 Oh, and it is probably the size of (length wise) my yellow goby, not as big around. Also, in 6 weeks, it has not really grown, so, maybe not a fry? I dunno!?
davelin315 May 12, 2010 May 12, 2010 Looks like a stickleback to me, but I don't know if those are indigenous to Ocean City or not. I do know that they can be brackish and that they have no scales but have bony plates beneath the skin instead. They are also related to sea horses and pipefish.
Chris- May 12, 2010 Author May 12, 2010 Uhm..... not really. Finally got the fish selection I wanted in there after 2 years, living and all getting along together. Even got the Anthias to eat flake! Yes, actually it could be a brackish fish. Got him from asseteage island boat ramp, but, not sure how brackish that water really is since the ocean is right on the other side of the mound.
gmubeach May 12, 2010 May 12, 2010 You probably shouldn't put wild north american fish in a tank with tropical reef fish...
