I put a yellow coris in on Sunday. It headed straight for the rocks. I have not seen it since. You think its a gonner or still hiding?

If it is intimidated, like mine was, it dove into the sand and stayed there for a day or two until it was ready to come out.

Knowing the habits of a wrasse i'd give it a pretty good chance that you could go a couple of weeks with out seeing it

I put one in once and never saw it again. I don't believe it ended up on the floor, either. Then again, I have a lycopod that I hadn't seen for a long time that I found recently.

SAND!? I did not know they did that? I have just been looking in the rocks.

Good to know.

I put one in the chiro tank and it disappeared for 3 days. They now have named it Jesus.

 Nice one!

Thanks everyone, I will give it time and hope I see it soon.

so how did the fish end up in the filter? Did it go over the overflow and end up in the sock?

My filter socks live in a little 'tank' in the sump - I have found several fish swimming around in there. Smaller ones, of course.

I found my clown goby in there several times. The wrasse was not so lucky.

Cover up the overflow.. There are plenty of options to fix that problem.. Ive had that happen as well, I just cut a piece of acrylic to cover it and hasnt happened since..

Be careful about covering the overflow. If you do cover it, a fish could jump onto the cover and end up frying under the lights as opposed to just leaving it alone, it'll be a pain, but at least you'll have live fish.
