The Great Officer Shakeup!

At the last general meeting, we held elections for President and Membership Coordinator. I (Doug Arthur-dbartco) left my position as VP and was elected President. also, Tom Land (origami2547) was elected to Membership Director. Open spots on the board, as required in the bylaws, requires the us to appoint someone to those spots for the remainder of that position's 2 year term. This was demonstrated last fall when Brian Ward was appointed WAMAS Treasurer.

 

Dave Lin (DaveLin315) has been appointed VP until winter meeting elections of 2011. We felt that his desire and experience in working with the club suted him well for this position. Dave had requested this consideration, which led to another opening on the board for club Secretary to be filled.

 

Hilary Foster (Hilary) has now been appointed to WAMAS Secretary until next winter meeting. Hilary has wonderful level-headed personality, moderation experience with other forums, and has always volunteered her time to help out where needed. She will be a welcome addition to the BOD.

 

Craig Kuhn will continue to help out as needed in his role as President Emeritus. Let's face it. Craig will always be there to depend on. He will also be helping out Dave Sandstrom with speaker coordination.

 

In summary, your new board as is follows:

 

Doug Arthur - President

Dave Lin - Vice President.

Brian Ward - Treasurer

Tom Land - Membership Director

Hilary Foster - Secretary

Craig Kuhn - President Emeritus

Just a minor point of clarification (not that anyone cares, but I'm detail-oriented ). The previous treasurer was appointed to fill-in for 1-year. I was actually elected at the last meeting for a 2-year term.
