I have the Acrylic rings and caps done, the laser is acting wierd however and I could not finish the rubber gaskets. Worse case we get to cut cirlces in the rubber with an exacto blade.

I am doing dinner tonight for some guest but I'll get the parts to Chip tonight or tomorrow (if you are out I'll leave in back hoss).

I snuck in some time to cut out our special Bottom Drill hole water stoppers... Should be worth a good chuckle from anyone involved on the project... Anyone else will think we are all wierd... but hey.. whats new...

About teh fitting, I would venture to guess that it is a NPT fitting, can you give me the info on what it is and I will look up the thread specs so I can get the right drill bit and tap?

I will post thread size specs later this evening.

Okay guys.  I know I'm too late but I just spoke to MichaelG ,when he was over to get stuff for Fragfest, and I think I want to build/buy one of these.  He told me that there may be enough material left over for another.

Unfortunately, I'm about to go on vacation Oct 9 - 23 so can't follow-up right now.  Just wanted to leave a note to keep me in mind and will be asking for help regarding this kalk/nielsen reactor when I get back.

Sorry haven't had a chance to read this whole thread but I will when I get a chance later.

Aloha!

Here's the deal on the kalk reactors.

We made 17 kits and there are about 25 people who want or would like one.

I'm waiting on one guy (#17) to positively confirm and confirm soon. If I don't hear back really soon (Monday) then this last kit will go into a fish bowl for all those who want it via a drawing.

There is still a chance to get one of these kalk reactors.

By a ton of raffle tickets at the frag fest seminar.

WAMAS has bought one of the kits (and they are confirmed)

#17  you need to confirm now!

I can't remember who said they were bringing the epoxy for the cords.

I will try to get the fittings for it to go through but have not found what I was looking for.

See you around 3:00

I was not in a chimney building mood this morning so I spent it cutting the fins to hold the powerheads.

Since I already made that much of a mess, I went ahead and jointed the edges so those are now done also.

I will have a  6' table we can glue them on.

See you later, Krish is bringing the hard goods.

Folks,

I just realized that we need to cover for some stuff that people added on

and we never paid for. We need to make good the usage/cost incurred.

a) Chip - Weldon 3 and 12 - 1 tube each.

b) Chip - The router carbide drill bit for cutting the sheets.

c) James - The Sheet of Rubber for the gasket.

c) James and His buddy who cut the holes in the flange and rubber sheet.

We owe them a lunch folks. James might be the reefer, but he is

using an obligation to get someone at work spend their lunch hours on this

   project.

Please add on if i missed out any. We need to replace the expendables or

add a few $ and chip into the expendables.

Well, this is just a suggestion.

thanks

krish

We also need to know how much each guy owes Doug.

I'm out of weldon #16 but have plenty of #3.

The smaller tubes fit but the bigger ones are cheaper so make sure we have at least 2 small tubes

for inside work.

Someone left a bag of sandpaper. I'd love to have it but it looks like a lot and it was costly. It appears that "someone" lives in or was traveling through the Woodbridge LOWES area.

If it's yours, let me know. If not,    yeah me.

I think some gift certificates to Outback is a good plan for James & his Buddy! (unless they are Veg heads, then Indian or Sushi)

We can order Weldon #16 for $2.75 a tube here http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=132&

Looks like were going to need 6+ tubes.

Chip, how much more #3 do you have?  ($13.90 a quart at TAPplastics.com)

Or maybe I can swing by Acme later this week...

Looks like I have plenty of #3, unless it evaporates

$2.75 is cheap, I may have paid as much as $7.00 at ACME.

If it's ordered from there, please get me 2 tubes for me and I'll pay you.

I still need to glue mine and glue my calcium reactor to boot.

If you want WAMAS to have one of these for the raffle, we need glue NOW.

I hope you guys can snag me some frags since I'll be out of town that weekend.

LMK, I'll make some time to put one together if you get #16 today or tomorrow for Wednesday.

I have no time after that.

Chip  -  PS, I want 2 #16 tubes for me.

I took him out to lunch once i will do it again, don't sweat my time, I am doing this for fun.

I can go by ACME if we want, but we should compare the prices between the online and ACME prices for the #16.

I just called them and the small tubes are 6.99, and large tubes are 11.99. I did not get what sizes "small" and "Large" were but 2.75 is much better than 6.99...

I looked on MSC and found the nylon thumb screws but they don't have the wing style nuts in nylon listed. I have seen humdreds of them but will need to search around. Prices are more than I expected.. sold in boxes of 100 for 11 bucks and some change... let me check for better prices elsewhere.

Let me know about the weldon I can pick it up if you need it quick. Might be best to get some for finishing Chip's and the raffle one, and order the rest of the tubes from TAP (who consequently we used to get our stuff from when I was at UC Davis. Small world)

If you really feel the need to "repay" me rememebr me with a frag [nana]

my tank is barren after the Honeymoon crash   [tr]

I will order the weld on from tap plastics and add that to the list that people owe me for. I could use some anyway. I am getting a bunch of the 4oz tubes (large) and will get a quart of #3. I have needles if we need applicators for the 3 (ex crack addict that I am).

It is ups ground, so any additional we need for the raffle hs to come from someone else.

Doug

Edit: Order made

Ah...............

Glenn may have ordered the weldon #16.

If anyone has the opportunity to get 1 small tube before tuesday I'll make time to glue one for WAMAS. I glued up a bunch of the pipe/fin deals last night since my #16 tube had a tear from squeezing so I used it up so we didn't loose it after my guests left.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the fragfest as I'll be on vacation.  If someone would be kind enough to purchase some raffle tickets for me, I'd appreciate it.

How much are the raffles each?  I can PayPal the money to someone directly or make arrangements before I leave this Saturday.

Sorry, impatient me.  $4.97 seemed better than $11.99 so I jumped on it. I don't like sitting on my hands waiting. I sure it will get used or get unloaded (calcium reactors).
