I'd like to say thank you to the vendors that are active here and continue to support the club with discounts, sales, donations, help, and advice. I think we are all very lucky to have access to such shops, people, information, and livestock. Keep up the great work! And the great corals, fish, inverts, and deals coming!

+1

I really enjoy talking to the vendors on the boards then meeting them when they host events! :)

Thanks guys, Its nice to be appreciated!! We work very hard to find you all the best products and livestock and be able to offer them at the best prices.

Now I just read another thread about how the LFS are doomed if they dont change their business model?? I guess not everyone is appreciative!

It's been several months since I last visited BRK or Aquaco or Fins & Feathers (mainly because my wife puts a freeze on my spending), I can honestly say that our vendors are the nicest folks I've encountered. When I had problem with my ACIII, I brought it to Johnny at BRK and he helped me. When I had problem with my tank, Sean at Aquaco helped me out. These folks go above and beyond services anywhere. I am grateful to have them around.

Our vendors have saved my butt in this hobby. Johnny & Byron at BRK sold me my very first protein skimmer, and when AquaCo opened less than a mile from where I work, I started going in there for advice. Without a doubt, I can say my tank is where it is today because of the world-class proprietors we have in the DC area.

i know we are fortunate. it is great to have knowledgeable, helpful folks. customer service is a big thing for me and it is why i go to the stores that i do.

These stores are the backbone of our hobby. Its a good feeling when you have something go wrong and these businesses are here to help us out. Whether it is advice or a loner part of some sort, we know we have them on our side. As much as we need them, they need us just as bad. Let's do our part and keep the support coming for our LFS. They will do their part to keep us happy.

I'm happy to say that I check our participating vendors for needed items before going elsewhere. Their dedication to the hobby and their willingness to help members out make me feel like I'm getting spoiled by being in this club....and I likes it!! ;)

Trust me ya'll have it so good up that way. BRK, F&F, Mr.Coral, AquaCo.. just to name a few. I still haven't found a decent reef store down here. Here is an example. One store wants $120 for USHIO 250W bulbs. Another store is an aiptasia farm in all of their tanks. The folks who work at the stores are mostly clueless... I could go on and on. Its kinda funny, about the only thing I miss about DC is access to the great LFS's in the area up there.

I find I do the same.

I drove (all the way) out to BRK to get my temp probe from John instead of of ordering it from Neptune.

With shipping, It would have been less expensive plus the time, but he carries, and more than just one, so he made the sale.

I also bought my controllers from him instead of the online GB's we had going on at the same time.
