lanman December 24, 2008 December 24, 2008 Note to self: Vacuum silt out of sump prior to installing new skimmer!!! bob
MLazar December 24, 2008 December 24, 2008 I feel I should apologize for laughing out loud (hope you didn't hear me in Bristow!) Is this like getting coal in your stocking................ haven't you been good?
dbartco December 24, 2008 December 24, 2008 poor thing - had to install a brand new skimmer - boo hoo!
capsfan December 24, 2008 December 24, 2008 poor thing - had to install a brand new skimmer - boo hoo! Haha
www.fishnreef.com December 25, 2008 December 25, 2008 I'd laugh...but I've done so many things much more knuckleheaded to think that was even an issue. You're just providing nutrients for your corals...now see if the new skimmer skims it out!
vaironman December 25, 2008 December 25, 2008 Pretty soon, it will be like its sister/brother tank in behind. Notice the behind tank is very clean now and no longer has aiptasia. Good job Bob!
lanman December 25, 2008 Author December 25, 2008 poor thing - had to install a brand new skimmer - boo hoo! Actually - it wasn't 'new' - it was just new to that tank. I got that Deltec from Steve a while back, and was running it on the 58-gallon system (skimmer capacity 600 gallons). So - I put the Deltec in the 240-gallon system, and put the GreySeas (capacity 400 gallons) in the 58-gallon system. VERY tight fit. I was using a smaller GreySeas in the 58, but it's still having impeller problems. Fortunately, the sump in the 240-gallon system is much cleaner. bob
lanman December 26, 2008 Author December 26, 2008 now post us a nice after shot. A day after: Quick snapshots of the other two tanks: The 33-gallon frag tank at 1 year, 9 months. The 240-gallon tank at ONE YEAR! bob
