gastone December 5, 2008 December 5, 2008 Some people have luck with emerald crabs. Certain tangs have worked for others, but a rabbitfish (foxface or goldspot or whatever) might be the best bet. G.
ReeferMan December 5, 2008 December 5, 2008 I have had luck with emerald crabs. They have eat most of it but not all (stuff growing on power heads or rocks they cant reach easily)
gmubeach December 5, 2008 December 5, 2008 oh ok I take it out and pop and cut the bubbles with a razor and it never comes back:) the trick is wipping the rock with a dry towel it ruins it, but it gets rid of it all the same!
Bob December 5, 2008 December 5, 2008 I have found attacking the bubbles with then end of my siphon hose during water changes helps. I have been told that if the bubbles are broken they release the insides (spores? etc?) that help it spread. By puncturing the bubbles and sucking up their insides and most times scraping the bubble off the rock etc. the spread seems to be greatly minimized. Any bubbles around overflows/inlets I try to pick off the bubbles whole and dispose in the trash. I had a greater number of bubbles earlier, but this method seems to minimize the spread and any new outbreaks. Neither emerald crabs or any tangs seem to eat this in my tank. Hope this helps. Bob PS...... If you have a lot of bubble algae, more frequent water changes to remove bubbles is a good thing all the way around!!!
jason the filter freak December 5, 2008 December 5, 2008 I've taken out rocks removed all the bubbles intact i could popped all the bubbles i couldn't then rinsed the rock throughly with saltwater before putting it back in the tank
