Vader May 4, 2008 Share May 4, 2008 Never seen it. Why does it have to be black?
Origami May 4, 2008 Author Share May 4, 2008 Contemplating using it for a frag rack inside the display. White egg crate is just so "obvious." http://www.modernplastics.com/eggcrate-sty...c9314f8dcd57a2e I could paint white egg crate with Krylon Fusion but I'm guessing that egg crate made from black plastic is more durable in the long run. YBeNormal May 4, 2008 Share May 4, 2008 I found one sheet of black egg crate at ACME Plastics about a year before they closed their shop in Alexandria. I asked if he could get more and he said, "Sure. How many cases of 40 sheets do you want?" I haven't seen it anywhere else around here since then. I guess I'll just have to dig around. If I find any locally, I'll be sure to post!
LiVEWiRE May 4, 2008 Share May 4, 2008 (edited) It's not local but they have Black EggCrate Silver or White. But you have to buy a case at a time. Maybe we should look into a group buy and get a case. I would like a few pieces for my frag tank I am getting ready to start soon. Here is the link http://www.goodmart.com/products/1101448.htm $135.00 a case plus shipping. Edited May 4, 2008 by LiVEWiRE

Origami May 6, 2008 Author Share May 6, 2008 I'm out of town this week but will continue the search for a local source when I get back.
lanman May 6, 2008 Share May 6, 2008 My white eggcrate always seems to be one of the quickest things in the tank to get coralline algae on it. So it never 'stands out' for very long. bob

Origami May 8, 2008 Author Share May 8, 2008 Nice thread, Jason. And, thanks for the offer. I'll hold off for now as I'm in no rush. I just wanted to do some experimenting and had thought about this several times over the last year but never got around to looking.
