  1. Sorry for the late reply @howaboutme These will support just about any kind of battery that you would like to connect to them. I am currently using SLA batteries and plan to upgrade to LIFEPO4 soon. The connection is our standard DC 5.5mm x 2.1mm.
  2. Well it seems that final design has come together for my ReefBoxx project and I must say that it has come along well. I will be taking orders soon so keep your eyes posted around here to find out when that will be. As always I will be offering it here at WAMAS first before I send it out for public orders. Not sure what the heck a REEFBOXX is? Well let me tell ya a little about it. Well its a BOX . Well it actually is a box but its not just a box. Its a box that transfers from regular power to backup battery power when the normal power goes out. Already done you say? Well actually not so. The REEFBOXX is a transfer switch that will transfer any DC powered pump to back up battery power. 12 or 24 volts does not matter it will do either. And the best part is that you choose what size batteries to connect it to. So if you need 8 hours of backup or 80 hours of backup you can configure whichever you like. Its all up to the user. This will be launching soon and you can check out the website for more updates as they happen. REEFBOXX.com Although as of now I do not have a specific price I will say that It will be priced very affordably, under $100 for sure. You purchase your own batteries and there will be instructions on putting it all together as well you can call or video me and I will personally help you through the process. I have been running one on my reef system for about 2 years now and have never worried about a power loss. Not even an issue for me anymore. I have a stand alone style where I have a charger connected to my batteries so it is always at 100% charge state to take over when the power goes out. I have ran my frag system for over 12 hours with the simple setup that I have setup. It does not drop your speeds on your pumps either they will run at the speed you have set for them the entire time. How long you want them to run is totally up to you. I went with a stand alone for testing and could run them many hours till I get home and can connect a generator. If you dont have room for a generator you can upsize your batteries and run for days on battery power. The possibles are endless. You can also branch off and run multiple pumps off the same batteries. I am very excited about this new way of backing up our reef tanks and cant wait to share it with all out you. Please feel free to ask any questions here that you may have. I look forward to the future of the REEFBOXX and sharing it with all of you. Patent Pending. Todd Haynes Puddle Aquatics
  3. Thank you all! All donations will help him set back up and running. Once he is settled and we get him the funds he will be posting a reef build here in the forums.
  4. Hello everyone, I wanted to get the word out that my Friends house caught on fire last week and along with the house as you can imagine his reef tank is destroyed to say the least. I cant imagine going through that and it has to be very emotional. I wanted to get the word out that I started a go fund me in order to get him a new system and was not exactly sure where to place it and think I am able to post it in the forum as it is helping a fellow reefer that has lost everything so I figured here would be as good as any. (Admins If there is a better place please move) If you can help great if you can spread the word that would also be great. Thank you. https://gofund.me/e41965d2
  5. Sorry for the delay. I will be posting more often in the future. We currently have two tangs in stock (Purple and a Powder Brown) that are now 100% quarantined and ready for a new home. We started out slow as to just take our time and to not get in too many fish just in case we ran into issues. Also this week we got in a shipment of Green Tipped Torch coral frags and some nice yellow Hammer frags. Also in the mix were some wall hammers, Zoas, favia, lords, and a few others. Next week we will be getting in another order as well. Updated pictures will be coming soon to the website. We will be also having a giveaway in the near future. More details on that to come. Happy Reefing! Todd
