Has anyone ever used one of these?

They use those, or used to use those, at the Smithsonian exhibit.

A guy named Dr Walter Addey was one of the pioneers and he a Julian Sprung got into some rather heated debates about them. One at a CMAS meeting soon after we founded it.

Julian maintained they promoted unwanted algae growth in the display, Addey that it prevented it.

Looks like you need to be an RC member to see it.

Might be true :why: Currently, I am a BB Member but not a RC paying member.

They've changed something by maybe moving the thread to a member area because I could see it this morning.

And I'm just a run of the mill bozo

Not sure what's going on, cause I'm a paid member and I still can

t see it.

If you read the thread before it was closed the guy said he builds the things and it was a brand new one so I'm pretty sure the thread got booted for being comercial.

I believe you are probably right. From the looks of it the thread was moved to the moderator discussion/deleted threads area. Just because a thread gets 'deleted' doesn't mean it is "deleted." We do the same thing from time to time here.
