TANK BREAKDOWN!!! GETTING OUT OF THE HOBBY :(

I am sorry to say this, but I am getting out of the hobby. I will be taking a break for a while. I just don't have the time anymore.I am only keeping a select few corals. the rest has to go. I will NOT hold anything. This is on a first come first serve basis. I have several colonies of SPS, LPS, and zoas. I can't list them all. Come by anytime on March 28th-29th.

 

I will sell frags or colonies. I will have great pricing. Please don't try to low-ball me. If your interested come by and pick up some stuff.

I dont even know what to say. I'm stunned.

 

I was sure it was a joke too untill I saw Dan's last comment.

 

I'd love to own one or two of your large SPSs, willing to pay $$$ but not sure what you think would be fair. Are you in a great rush? Will temporary housing for coral & fish help? Is there anything I (or we) can do to help or are you 100% sure you are out?

Its always a downer to see someone leave the hobby, especiallly when its someone who has seen such great success as you have.

I spoke with Chris last night. Sounds like this is a "good thing". Meaning that his photography business is doing quite well. That, along with other fun stuff, Chris is planning to devote his time to his work. We all know what that is like. So, the impression I got is that he will be staying in the hobby on a cursory basis for now but does plan to remain in the hobby long term...just ask NAGA...who is building him a tank.

I was going to say something similar... if you aren't out of the hobby for good and plan to get back into it at some point when you have more time, I would be happy to babysit your tank and corals (I have an empty basement I'm thinking about setting up some smaller tanks in).

 

(btw, we met briefly back in November at the first newbie tutorial at one of the Dave's houses; I drove you back to your place and checked out your tank)
