Looking to get a Tunze for my 72 gallon mixed reef.

I currently have 3 different powerheads. Attracted to the Tunze for their output and low wattage. Anyone have any expereience with either the 625/645 or 6060? I think I will splurge on the 6060 although apparently you can do a simple mod on the 625 to up the output to 1200 g/hr?

Wally,

i have used all of them. yOu can reach me at 410-703-5383 if you have anymore questions. I am a Tunze dealer as well. There will be some Tunze pumps donated for the raffle this coming weekend...........try your luck!

Hey NAGA i will call you. Unfortunately I can't make it to the meeting but I look forward to hearing your expertise. Thanks

outside of Jeff's good advice, it all depends on how you want to use the streams. If you just want each pump to run at one steady spead, then you can get the new 6025 or 6045 nano streams; or the larger 6060 or 6080 (I think those are the numbers). If you want to control them and pulse them then you need to get a 7095 multi-controller and either the 6000, 6100 or 6200, or 6300's. OR the new (not shipped yet) 6055 nano.

I believe the 6000 series can be upgraded for about $75 each by buying bigger transformer, should you ever decide to get a bigger tank or want more flow.

Amount of flow will in part depend on what you plan to keep in tank. SPS like lots of flow.

i have 2 6000s run on single controllers in a 75g and they work out great. My sps love the flow.

....so, can a 6080 be upgraded to a 6100 or alike for use on a 7095 controller?

How do you have 2 6000s on a 75 without a sand storm....would love to see in person or pic....just getting one 6080 on my 90 without kicking up too much sand is a challange....currently deflecting flow against rockwork with some degree of success.....Tunze nano 6045.....not impressed....will be modding and/or changing perpeller on 6080 to 6060 perpeller

6060, and 6080 are not controllable.

The reason i went with 6000 is that it is upgradable. I currently have each 6000 runs on a single controller. The controller allows me to control the flow rate and generate random flow.
