What did you use to seal the tank, and if it's well constructed, what would keep it from lasting more than hald a decade? I'm not asking you to tip your hand.. but not including live stock, rock, sand, water salt etc. Approx what did this project cost?

I'd like to see the pics... Burke is a fair distance for me.

I wasn't aware this thread would start such a muddle(despite the warning i recieved early on in the thread, I've made my decision... I won't be buying new, and I'm now PMing members about buying preowned or finding DIY place. Any one care to help me out with that I'd appreciate it...

I have limited space possibly an 8X6 inch space in sump to place it. If any one has one for sale as well let me know have $$ and . Also note for those of you who haven't already become aquainted with me... This tank is in a dorm style room, on a dorm sort of budget... The tank is a 55 gallon, with a thirteen gallon capicity sump with the afomentioned 6x8 or so space for the skimmer. Any one with some great suggestions as well please include them in the response.

I've seen some pretty interesting zip/wire tie set ups that flowersellers talking about, even using some ties to supend rock to make bridge and cave scape, like he mentioned if you need to change your aqua scape, just "cut the cord" so to speak

Got it thanks for clearing that up!! Ok, so I've learned a few new things. Now can any one reccomend one style of skimer over another, be it priziom skimmer, needle wheel, spray injection, air driven... What the best option?

last I checked I was helping move the tank and supplies, I didn't know what any of that had to do with a wedding or flowers....

Sat looks fine for me I've decided I'm going to switch over to sand, and jst pick out and keep a few shells from my former substrate for new hermit homes, etc. I have now the output from a fluval 305, and 405 canister filter, and from a 400 gph pump thats running my sump, plus two power sweep power heads for circulation at the moment. Just how stong should my circulation be? Whats a good gauge.... Due to limited space and the tendancy for powerheads to suck up sand and umm limited space I'm about to pull my super sponge filters to make room to add more power heads. What does any one think about cheap and effective wave making strips?

I'm aware you don't have a signature... I was preluding to the fact that you should add one...
