  1. I'd be happy to. I'm about 1.5 hours away from Manassus and about 1.25 hours away from you. There's plenty of room in my tank for holding corals, but I don't know if I could pick up a fish (no Q tank yet). I might have one set up by the time of the social though.
  2. I'll definitely be at the social, maybe we can plan it so I can pick some stuff up for Nat and myself there. Thanks for the offers guys, I'm definitely interested in everything listed so far, the more tanks I can get stuff from the better!
  3. My live rock is absolutely devoid of any life. I haven't even seen a copepod on it. So, I'd really like to seed it with some rubble that is teeming with critters. Are there any local stores that would have said rock, or would you have any recommendations for an online store? I had thought about TBS, but I really only want about 10 lbs of rubble here. I'm mostly interested in finding: Asterina starfish bristleworms pods of all shorts Mini bristle stars Maybe pistol shrimp Things like that. Or, if anybody has any rock thats got lots of these guys running around, I'd be happy to buy a chunk of it! My only other concern is die-off from the rock, but I figure with just a few lbs of it in a 75 with a cleanup crew thats begging for some snacks the ammonia spike should be minimal.
  4. When I came across this decision for my 75 (36" long) I was given some sound advice. Get the 6 bulb fixture, and if you feel its too bright, only use 4 bulbs on it.
  5. This is a huge blow to the reefing community. His tank was an inspiration to all of us, and he had some of the largest SPS colonies in the country. That being said, he is a master aquascaper and I can't wait to see what he comes up with now
  6. Wow, thats a really nice looking stand/canopy! I don't see how those glass doors on top serve any purpose though, and I have no idea how you're going to retrofit that T5 fixture in there. How did the previous owner have it set up?
  7. Turns out I have to come in to the office to work tomorrow. Stupid tax season :(
  8. The top of the canopy is all made of glass? Can you post a pic? That seems strange.
  9. Why not just ditch the canopy? But yeah, you should be able to mount the fixture inside the canopy without the mounting set, it just seems like a colossal waste of a good piece of equipment IMO.
  10. Oh wow, beautiful. They're definitely on my list to get, but unless I could be sure I could get it to take prepared foods there's no way my tank is mature enough for one yet.
  11. I found this on ReeferMadness, has anyone had any experience with these? I'm wondering if they eat red bugs like the Dragonfaced pipfish does? Very cool fish nontheless. http://www.reefermadness.us/RMD_Doryrhamph...essuliferus.htm
  12. I'm in Harrisonburg, but thats still about an hour and 15 minutes from you. Welcome!
  13. Its my masterpiece. I call it, boredom while the fiance was away.
  14. I doubt I'll be be able to make it. If it was on a Saturday I would be there in a second, but driving all day Sunday and potentially not getting home till late (I'm 2 hours away) would be rough since its tax season. I'm going to be at the tank tours at least though!
  15. I was just in there on Saturday, boy did he have some nice encrusting monti's.
  16. I've always been inspired by his tank.
  17. I had a successful trip to Roozen's this weekend. That place is unreal. Woot! He's having a bit of trouble acclimating to the flow in the tank, but I'm sure he'll eventually be ok. My fiance picked this out. She has GREAT taste in starfish, here's hoping it does well!
  18. Wow those Nuclear Greens have REALLY taken off! Nice pics!
  19. Anything that hits Tetra right in the wallet is a great move in my book Wal-Mart should've given up on fish a long time ago.
  20. Bannerfish. Heniochus diphreutes to be exact. They're the reef safe version. Heniochus acuminatus (or something similar) is a very close looking relative that is definitely NOT reef safe.
