  1. Well, I lost the cowfish from an incident with a powerhead while in quarantine. It was one of those stupid mistakes on my part, but I assumed he would be ok with just one powerhead (at 100gph) with an uncovered intake for the night since I couldn't find a sponge to put on it. I was wrong. But, some updated pics First, the obligatory FTS' Then, the SPS I've collected so far My first SPS frag (from 143Gadgets): A. millepora This one receded a bit when I got it but it seems to have stopped: A. turaki A. abrolhensis And my 2 freebie frags from RM. This first one was completely brown when I got it, I had considered just tossing it out it was so ugly. I'm glad I didn't! And this one I've got high hopes for. Its got neon green rings around the base of the polyps on its tips. And then zoanthids These are recovering nicely from being bleached. I actually like this new color better than the original. These have exploded in growth in the last few days. I've counted 6 new budding polyps on it. Green Bay Packers AoG: Next Gen - Still taking a while to recover from the bleach. Zombie Eyes Mean Greens: My favorite zoanthids (and the slowest growing :() And a couple of inverts that are in the tank: So far I'm really pleased with everything. All the corals are growing nicely and coloring up much better than I expected. Edit: Ack, it grouped all those pics as one post, I had them split up as 3 separate posts. Sorry.
  2. I PMed him a bit before Tuesday and haven't heard back yet so he must be pretty busy.
  3. Dude, NICE! Keep us updated as to how they are with the reef I've always, ALWAYS wanted to get one of those, but I'm afraid of dropping that much cash only to have it nip, ya know?
  4. Lol, want another one? I've got in my tank that has nearly doubled in size since I got it a month ago. It tries to attack me every time my hand gets near it.
  5. Chris where did you find that Dragonface Pipefish?
  6. Oh thats definitely why they bleached. They were the first corals that I put in the tank, I figured they'd be ok on the sandbed. All the other zoanthdis have pretty much recovered completely, these are the only ones showing long-term effects. I've since changed my bulbs around a bit and I've been a lot more careful with acclimation.
  7. Haha, alright I guess I'll use them as guinea pigs then Its just strange that they're the only ones suffering from it. I'll move them to a lower flow spot and report back in a couple of weeks.
  8. Oh they're definitely getting their color back, but the skirts are really annoying me. They've about doubled in polyp count since I got them, but even the new polyps have the same problem. I know its not the flow thats causing it, considering they came from 143Gadgets tank, and these are the only zoanthids to display this.
  9. My AoG Next Gens bleached after I first got them, and now their skirts are very long and stringy. What are the chances that they will recover and is there anything I can do to speed it up? Pics: When I first got them: Bleached This was a few weeks ago, they've actually gotten worse since then:
  10. Astrea snails Red legged hermits Tangs Thats what I used to rid my tank of it.
  11. :( A 10 foot rise though, thats incredible. Its a wonder any of the reef is left at all.
  12. This months contest could get ugly.
  13. A LFS here in Harrisonburg, VA has some really small ones in, but it would probably be a 3+ hour drive to get here :(
  14. Looking good! I'll take everything in the 5th pic, lol.
  15. A 40 watter would be severe overkill for a 75 gallon tank, no? I was thinking the base price unit would be more than sufficient for my needs, but maybe not.
  16. I was considering this http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/catalog/p...roducts_id=1052 but I just wish I knew how reliable they are. Chip, what kind are you running?
  17. Is one brand of UV sterilizer leaps and bounds better than another? I'm in the market for one, and want to get the best one possible.
  18. Those tanks are a work of art, I'd just hate to see one being used as a sump, lol.
  19. Take this in the best way possible, but are you *#@!ing insane? Those ADA tanks are extremely expensive. I'd just go buy a 20 gallon from Petco for $40 and be done with it. P.S. What are the dimensions of it?
  20. I'm definitely up for anything. It looks like you'll be coming closer to Natasha than myself so if we go that route I'll just work on picking it up from her whenever its convenient.
