  1. I was talking to someone at ReefEscape today and he asked me about my fish. I told him that I have a true perc clown for 10 years and he was amazed. I then decided to show some proof and found a picture of her 13 years ago. She has survived 4-5 ich infestations throughout the years while others did not. Feel very lucky and she has been always been my favorite. Thought I shared here since the wamas community has always been part of this journey.
  2. I've been looking at that too due to a post on ReefBuilders. lol
  3. Nice clean look and happy Regal. Well done Tony.
  4. Is there a local store that carries copper power?
  5. Anyone tried this to treat velvet? Anyone has some for me to try?
  6. Tagging along. After 8+ years of ich free fish in my display tank, the tank acquired velvet 3 weeks ago due to me not following my own rule of buying fish at Petco even after quarantine. Out of the 8, lost 3 so far. Curious if any members have chloroquine phosphate per humblefish recommendations. I have them in QT and doing daily freshwater dip but I would like to see if CP will do the trick.
  7. Not sure if this is the right forum to post this. If not, I apologize. My friend has a 150G tank that is badly out of shape. He travels a lot and does not have the time to put the care into it anymore. He still wants a nice looking tank though. Is there someone on this board that can restore his tank again and manage his tank to be eye candy ready? I dont know much about this but told him that I will ask around. Price range?
  8. I saw his tank and was not able to extract myself to go home for a long time.
  9. I wont recommend putting fish flox in a DT. Water change will help if you cannot get the fish out into a QT tank. Good luck.
  10. GFI. Backup air pumps. Quarantine fish!
  11. Good water quality will usually help the fish recover. I also had success with Fish-Flox (Cipro).
  12. You should have gotten two. They gave $20 off on the second one.
  13. LiveAquaria had a pair for sale a couple of months ago. First time I've seen them listed.
  14. Place is looking great! Definitely on my work lunch rotation.
  15. That is amazing! Can I come over tomorrow?
  16. Sorry. I was thinking "captive bred" fish. I meant getting homegrown frags and not colonies/pieces from the ocean.
  17. I'm just amazed that my tanks survived will no casualties, especially the SPS tank that had no air pumps. I had two battery air pumps for the bigger tank and I think that helped a lot for the fish. No generator or anything else. Tanks were also in the basement which was much cooler. In the past, the SPSs would die rapidly without more than a couple of hours of power. I guess CB frags are the way to go since they seems to be more resilient.
  18. You have some quality equipment there. Dont give up. I have been doing this for decades and had some really low moments. There were many times that I wanted to get out but those beautiful fish and corals always have had a special place in my soul.
  19. I am assuming that ammonia and nitrite were in the safe range? To decimate the population in that big of a tank that fast is really strange.
  20. I have been there and it is devastating to watch. A couple of years ago, I went through the same thing and out of desperation, I caught the remaining fish at night and gave them a freshwater dip. I then put them in my coral only tank and preyed that I they survive through the night. Lucky for me they did and after a week, I had to put them all in the big tank again due to space and pollution concerns. They are still with me to this day. Still dont know what happened but I think it was more luck then anything else. Maybe try a freshwater dip for the remaining fish?
  21. Where can I find them in NOVA?
